Id just be happy if it told you how many times you killed your opponents after a game.
i.e.
X killed Y 12 times, Z 16 times etc!
That would give you bragging rights for sure! =D

Yeah, it's always nice to see that. It would always rat someone out if they got most of their kills off of the bad players. Wasn't that in Perfect Dark as well?

I would like a sound the goes "HEAD SHOT" when you snipe someone in the head, not for other guns, just the sniper. I have never really liked accuracy ratings anyway because it does not really show skill, you could be shooting some of the new destructable scenery and getting a boulder on someones head. Kills:Death ratios aren't too bad, but I could argue that spawn-killing does not show skill but does show kills, and that if you are especially skilled at getting flags out of bases then you might have many deaths and few kills. I could also argue that wins v losses could be due to bad team mates or unfair numbers.

There should definitely be non-ranking games, for example if you want to let a friend play who has never played before. On Rainbow 6 I lost about 200 ELO from letting my bro play on live

I don't like the memory card idea, if it happened I would just think of it is just trying to sell more xbox equipment. Sure, have stat tracking on xbox live, but that should be it.

SB-117

Excellent points!,
I think for your scroreboards you could have a profile saying
Kills: n
Average Kills/minute: o
Deaths: p
Flag Captures: q
(Amount of times appeared top of a matches scores): r
etc.
and if you wanted to see who had the most flag captures on xbox live
you would search "Flag Captures" or maybe "kills". Does anyone get me?

(oh and a mode where you can set it so that what you do on live doesnt affect your scores. so if you want to let your brother play just set the edit stats mode to "off". (and hope he doesnt turn it on out of spite lol)

I played this game where you get experience for doing things, and levelled up at certain amounts of exp. When you killed a lvl 22 you get 22 kill levels, when you kill a lvl 50 you get 50 kill levels, and so on. When you died, you lose a fifth of your experince. This is actually slightly relevant, as maybe there could be something where you get higher "kill levels" (I am guessing they won't call them that) for killing someone good, and losing some if you die.

One flaw in this I see is that it would not take into account who you are killed by, and circumstances. If you are killed by someone better than you, you should not lose as much. I don't really know about the circumstances, I am sure that Bungie could find a way to implement it if they saw fit (not saying they will).

orrrrrrrrrrrrr...
you could put him on a new profile...
how do you like that...

i've been thinking 'bout halo as an MMO, which would have all these stats, i remeber a guy saying in another thread "sounds like planetside to me"...

it'd be great if halo and PS were combined into one game, combined characters, plots, weapons and vehicles.

add space travel, SOE's experience in MMO's, Bungie's experience in sci-fi, and support on PC, mac, xbox and ps2

ok so perhaps i just said this to come up with the ps2 idea, but its cool anyway.

Only personal stats should be recorded, no competition stats...

If they do competition stats, I think an option to disable any such stats for you should be made... I don't want to play for ranks, I just want to play for fun...

It would be cool to have something to show for all those hours of playing. But there will be people out there that will take advantage of the system (On XBOX Live). Like finding bad players so they get more kills and less deaths. If the system worked through memory cards then people could easily take advantage by making a new profile and killing it loads.

It's not a system to be taken advantage of. Like the guy posting before you. I just want it for personal tracking. I don't care what kind of live ranking system they use. Although part of both could be some sort of quality kill, where the adjustment is based on where the person you kill is ranked relative to yourself. I know someone above mentioned that sort of thing, I was just reinforcing it.

Has there been any news on the multi-player as far as stat tracking. I would hope they would do something similar to Perfect Dark as far as accuracy, head shots, most kills, wins v. loses, etc. I would even be willing to use a memory card to take to Halo parties. It's just nice to have something to show for playing for hundreds of hours and it would be way cooler to show your friends your stats rather than what levels you have beaten on which difficulty.

Me: "OMFG, Dude... wtf!"
AbolitionofMan: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to betray you."
Me: "That's the 4th time in this game alone!"
Chris: "Third, besides he had the flag I was trying to stop him, how was I supposed to know you were there."
Me: "I said, 'I got the Flag, don't shoot.'"
Chris: "Well those Wraith shots take a while to reach you."
Me: "You were right next to me, I had killed him and a minute passed before you decided to shoot."
Chris: "Hahahahaha, yeah... that was great."

As long as they don't use the ELO system I am happy.... that d@mn thing is hard enough to understand let alone how one can get points by it...
