I'm sure we've all heard the phrase "hello pillage".

Yeah and 4/10 times its not him.

Everybody here thinks pillage is the only spammer. What fools.

However, knowing whether or not a member is new would change how I respond to them. I mean, if I see that they joined this week or month, and they posted in a wrong forum, I would offer them constructive criticism in a PM. If they have had an account for like a year, I'd just ignore the thread because what would be the post of correcting them, they don't care to learn.

Or you could just click the link to their profile and see it there.

I don't think so. It was just another thing to make people compete with eachother by comparing their account age.

...

I'm wondering why you would even need a second party to be able to tell if some-one's a troll or not. Is it that hard (Hypothetically, because I know some posts are in-fact quite difficult to read) to simply look at the post and decide if that person is a troll or not?

I don't like the idea of giving the new members a big ol' stamp saying they're new. Even more so if the soul purpose of said stamp is to promote their possibility of being a troll.

It also can't be too good for their self-esteem if they all get labeled as newbs.

As someone else said (Although probably in a different context), it doesn't matter if you joined today or three years ago. It's the quality of your posts that decides who you are.

Bah. Forgot my conclusion. I believe it was something about baked goods, or particularly large birds. Stupid birds.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

I read it. I've seen new members ignored before when the Member Since was there. And if the person is trolling, people usually can tell. Don't forget about the IP addresses that are being tracked.

Usually the people from 2006 that were being ignored were being ignored for a good reason. For instance, a bunch of guys from the Old Crapiness talk about how they liked it more. A member from 2006, who has only seen the New Hawtness, says he likes the New Hawtness more.

My point is that, like it or not, Join Date does matter in some cases.

EDIT: And isn't it "sole purpose" Krump? And what loser needs self-esteem, anyway? :P

No, it's STFU purpose. Mind the subtle hint. :[

Just because your purposes don't have souls. Mine do. They gots plenty of souls. None of that sole crap. Sounds like a type of Mexican Bean.

That's right, I went there.

(I've been watching Bleach today. I blame that, not my lack of English-knowing-and-the-what-not.)

It doesn't promote elitism. Have you ever heard someone say "hah! I've posted more recently than you!"?

Not today, but yes.

It truly is amazing what people will use to make a comparison.

Now surely they were joking. If someone uses that in an argument, doesn't that mean that both parties will have posted on that same day..? Or how would they be arguing?

Kritz, I'm pretty sure you're clinically insane. But don't turn yourself in, you're funny insane. At least, with a couple of ocean's worth of physical distance between you and me you are. =)
