Read about the Forgotten Spartan I Program
Butane: To protect the world from devastation!
sir_brilliant: To unite all people within our nation!
Rainman89: To denounce the evils of truth and love!
sir_brilliant: To extend out reach to the stars above!
SpaceGhostFlyer: Jessie!
Butane: James!
sir_brilliant: Team Rocket blasting off at the speed of light
Butane: Surrender now or prepare to fight
sir_brilliant: Meowth, that's right!

I have noticed several threads in which people need help with XBox 360/halo 2 issues, Halo PC issues, etc.

So why not, instead of having these questions locked or users sent to xbox.com, have a support forum?

Apple has one on their site, and a user was apple to help me fix my iPod when Apple couldn't.

Basically, If you had a bungie related support issue- Halo 2,linking your gamertag, backwards compatibility, XBL, etc. The user would post his/her question here, and hopefully someone could answer it. It would be a lot easier than sorting through countless documents that don't always have your solution anyway. Plenty of users here have enough technical knowledge to be able to contribute, and it would take questions about Linking your gamertag out of the Septagon and all the other problems that are as of now ignored.

Thoughts?

i think we have FAQ's all around the site, which would answer most questions. Also, the support forum i bet wouldnt get more than 2 topics a day

"Whatever exists, whatever in creation exists without my knowledge exists without my consent. These anonymous creatures may seem little or nothing in the world. Yet the smallest crumb can devour us. Any smallest thing beneath yon rock out of men's knowing. Only nature can enslave man and only when the existence of each last entity is routed out and made to stand naked before him will he be properly suzerain of the earth."

Sadly, nobody here is a designated specialist at answering these questions. I think it's fair to at least offer the person the chance to have a solution given to his problem, but a support forum would just mean more work for everyone. And kind souls probably wouldn't be interested in heading there to help other people, so the members are less likely to get their questions answered.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

I'm sure plenty of people could help out, but imagine the liability issue. Someone gives bad advice which leads to a broken 360, who do you think they'll go after?

Hey you saw my sig! :)
Their was a time when this was under a post. Simpler times; no Halo 3 Forum and no search. Simpler times. Happy about search though.

I agree with you Mabian. Although, I do believe if there is, or will be, a support forum it will be looked over by many. People would still post help question in all the other forums. Yes, that is a side effect of this, but nothing is perfect. However, out of all of this, I do like the idea. It would give more members like Mabian and I to help people further. So then we would not have to search for people that need help. So, upon writing this and reading all of the other posts. I have concluded that I shall be neutral. I can go both for, and against, this subject. Because in my opinion, the bad is just as much as the good.

A group might be a good place for this, actually. A Tech Support group.

You have no scruples.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I like this idea. According to the Chapter Founders stickie, this forum used to be the support forum in Chapter Founders. Its gone a long way I'm sure, but now there are other questions that this particular forum can't, or won't answer.

Usually, these kinds of support questions are posted in the Underground, which is definitely the wrong place for them. The reason the originate in there is because its the first forum listed. If the web team made another support forum and listed it first, most of the questions would be asked there, and it might not be breaking any rules for their posts to be there.

I know that the flood or the Optimatch & New Mombassa forums are usually where those threads belong, but a new member who hasn't aquatinted themselves with the stickies doesn't know that. A mod has to move the thread into the correct forum or he has to lock it. A new forum up top would probably reduce all the work the mods have to do to.

Although, its still very easy for the mods to simply lock or move threads, there are not always mods on, especially early in the morning Bungie time. This could be a solution to that problem. However, even the mods don't seem to consider this a big problem, so I guess there is no need. But for the record, I would like to see one.

Bungie listens to its fans! ^.^ | Ninja .II./ You
RCG: In ur base, steelin' ur flagz. | Watch the demo, then join the carnage!

There really is nowhere but the Flood to post "Help!" topics (unless they relate to the site...) and the chances of getting an intelligent answer there are slim.

It might be a nice addition, but it has to be said that there are other forums on the 'net for that kind of thing.

Even if there was one, 80% of the people who have questions wouldn't use the forum.
