Subject: Need help with themebuilder

I have a question concerning the themebuilder. I have looked around and am finally resorting to posting in the forums. If anyone is familiar with themebuilder, please help!

I have downloaded the ziped folder and I am trying to open the styles.css document. When I try to open it a window pops up and says that the file cannot be opened because Windows doesn't know what program created it. If anyone could explain what this means and how to solve it, it would be greatly appreciated.

For Carnage, Apply Within.

I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

Try opening it with Notepad.

Also get Sir Frag's themebuilder MK 3 if you haven't already.

Yep, Notepad worked, thanks.

Never heard of it. Does it work better? And Bungie will still accept it? I bet Sir Frag is one of those smart guys like the dude that wrote a program to help track what mods logged in last.

EDIT: Noticed you have a custom avatar, so you must a made a theme. So we don't keep bumping this thread, would you mind if I PM any questions, if I have any more (probably will, lol).

Sir Fragula Is a Theme Master, I think he was the first one at Bungie.net

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Achronos has the first account, Sir Fragula came later. And his guide should tell you everything you need to know. Styles.css is a very important part of your theme. You can't make one without it. If you have Macromedia Dreamweaver, use that. If not, note pad can open anything, go with it if you have to. Don't forget that ctrl + F will find the specific text your looking for in note pad. And I don't think that the web team is accepting themes anymore, but you never know. Make one and submit it.

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Ok, i thought you should know that Achronos and others have hinted at the fact that they probably won't be accepting themes right now because of certain changes that may arrise sometime in the future. Therefore i would recommend you merely get the theme builder for experience and to play about with rather than make something to submit.

The theme folder should contain a small, basic tutorial on the essentials of theme building. However, if you would like more help, you can check out Rip Saw's old guide or Mine

I do recommend you use notepad or Dreamweaver for css work.

That's not a custom avatar, it's one of the new ones that were recently added. Check them out, there's a whole load of them. =)

...and I think he meant that Sir Fragula was the first Theme Master here...

Finally, there have been hints that the site may be updated majorly soon and the themes will not be compatible... Thus, new ones aren't being accepted at the moment.

So the new site might use entirely different themes? Great, I was finally starting to understand the current system, lol. Oh well, maybe I can make an even cooler theme after the change. I want to use it in a group, plus a custom avatar kicks ass!

I'm sure making a theme for the current Hawtness would be good practice, if nothing else. And you could get feedback on it from other theme builders so you knew what to change for the next time you tried. =)
