I know, although I havent read the books Ive heard a lot said, did they not go through an augmentation process? where metal was grafted onto their bones. Also in the manual (which is the only resource i have) it states that they have been "bio-enginered and technologically advanced" and this is without the armour!
Surely the novels dont detract that much from this idea?

i thought they were children considered as close to perfect as we can get! Like i said i dont have the books, although i do plan to read them eventually. But if they were once human then bio-enginered and technologically advanced to perform better does that not make them cybernetic?

The spartans were stolen from there homes as children, they replaced the originals with flash clones. The continued to train the severly until there teenage years. Undergoin an augmentation process were steel was grafted to their bone makin them nearly unbreakable, eye and nueral implants to give the enhanced eyesight and reation times and injection to make every tendon muscle and organ tougher tigher and generally stronger. In short the went frome the most elite fighting squad tho the most elite fighting squad with 10 times reaction time, eyes that could nearly see in the dark and severe toughness. The -blam!- was soo crazy that it made the feel as though the were experiencing slomotion. The started with 75 somthin cadets and ended up with 35 somthing... some died, some became immobilized, others bones were twisted and brittle from the aumentation.. They were both femal and male cadets. and they were all pale under their armor and really buffed out. thats the jist of em...

ron stop spamming as for the spartans, they were all born humans yes, most if not all were born in outer colonies of the human federation, the original reason for the spartan project was to create a strike force to deal with civil unrest (you know.. people dont always want to be part of a federation)
they were selected by their genes (which doctor hasely (the leading doctor in the spartan project) had on file cos in those days we all part of the system with DNA tags and what not).
as for the body augmentation, yeah they had some metal/ceramic stuff fused to thier bones, eye sight was improved by running more blood throguh the cappilery system (though it did blind a few) reflexes were improved by changing the conductant fluid between nerves (synapses?) also had some kind of protein thingo give em super dealy strength ( messed with their hormones as well) i dont know how many made it through the surgery, about half? but yeah, there were female spartans and indeed he has an accent, all americans have accents, only australians dont...

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Yes and yes....

There are female Spartans. They include Kelly (fastest Spartan, missing with Dr. Halsey ("creator" of the Spartans)), Linda (bets sniper, a loner, still alive), Li (best microgravity maneuverer of the Spartans, now dead.... Flashfried by a Covenant plasma torpedoe during a repair mission in the Slipstream anomaly in First Strike), and Grace (explosives specialist, killed on the Unyielding Hierophant by a Brute's "plasma-charge launcher" in First Strike).... thats all I know of.

And the Chief has an "American" accent.... The reason I use quotation marks is because we're not quite sure if the USA still exists in 2552 (Earth does, yes... but individual countries have not been listed yet, I don't think (unless you count the "East African Protectorate," where New Mombassa is, as one).

Li was male, Vinh was the other female.

Also Australians do have accents, just not as bad as they seem on American TV shows they are just fake.
