Can the title update include new achievements and avatar awards?

Posted by: Face7Eater
It's going to include new weapons, new maps, new storyline, new characters, it's getting changed from FPS to an MMO, and biggest of all, it's now going to be based on a famous Saturday morning cartoon.

Yay I Got In! Thank you Bungie and for such a kick butt game as
][-][ //-\\ ][_ ((-)).

Playing Halo since November 17, 2001.

"cant believe nobody is addressing the situation with Australia.........Why the hell only 10 betas are on offering by bloody competition....W T F .....So much for the " Word Wide Release" There a god damn lot of Halo fans in Australia... and i just don't understand it....
All you yanks must be afraid of being OWNED!!!!!!!! "
-Jim327

Halo is made by Bungie under Microsoft which is an American company not Austrailian. Thats probably why the offer to Beta test was first made widely in the US!
By the way, Im sure most of us 'Yanks' can handle you!

I registered using firefox this morning at 6:30, so I am assuming traffic was low at that point. The previous night I was getting all kinds of errors: blank screens with only the privacy policy, load failures, etc.

well, i've registered, but i've still got about a thousand questions. when are the beta people picked? how are they notified? when are they notified? what happens after they're notified? why can't i find my underwear? what format is the beta in (disk form, special marketplace download, etc)? when is the new commercial coming out on marketplace?

that is all.

p.s. this is actually the second time i registered. i was a little eager yesterday and signed up with one of the leaked links. i think it was the same site, and if it is, will that hurt my chances of getting into the beta at all? questions need answers! questions without answers are just as useless as a hairbrush is to a bald guy. or a caveman. your pick.

Why is only a select few (million) going to participate? Like, why can't they release it to the whole world for everyone to enjoy? Thats how all other multiplayer game demos have been released on marketplace.

"hint, hint" to any moderator/Bungie dude that might be reading this: Please answer!

You want to know what it'd be like to have no moderators on this site? Try this easy to prepare simulation.
Step 1: Procure yourself an intact box, something a fridge or similarly large appliance.
Step 2: Fill cardboard box halfway with feral cats. One or two should be rabid.
Step 3: Climb inside the box, closing the top behind you.
Step 4: Begin screaming and thrashing wildly at the cats.

Well since I only got the white page yesterday I did the sign up again today and it worked. Hopefully it won't count as two registrations. Its weird that you are required to be a certain age and have a 360 yet it never asked. I pass all the requirements anyways so I hope it isn't a problem. Overall this process was horrible. Why couldn't it have been easier?

This might be a question for someone high up in the chain:

I'm military serving in Germany, so I signed up as a valid US resident (my moms house) because technically I am still a valid US resident, I don't know how the info is going to line up though so I hope I'm not DQ on some technicality. My internet connection is German so I hope they don't think I'm trying to dupe them, so should I try to go through the German sign up? On my 360 account I'm signed up as American, because I don't like to get crap in German, ah I'm confused.

Help please?

beta is not the same thing as demo

beta: The last software testing phase before a production rollout or more commonly know in the industry as UAT: User Acceptance Testing. Also known as Beta Testing, QA Testing, Application Testing or End User Testing.

demo: Demonstration software - usually a special version of a commercial program that can be freely downloaded on a trial basis; often has limited features or expires after a period of time

that's why, i believe. It's surprising still that they are making such a big deal about the beta, normally it's intended for people who know something about testing and what not, I just hope it doesn't turn into a bunch of 12 year olds saying "halo 3 will suck, there's just a bunch of glitches and crap"... but hopefully the age limit will help in this area.

Well demo or beta it should be available to everyone. That way they get more opinions and convert people to the Halo side. It souldn't be given to winners of a contest.

Your missing the point, why would they release the game to everyone, unfinished? They need to finish the game, then release it. Otherwise, they make no money, because i wouldn't pay to beta test a game. The point is to TEST the software...it's not for everyone. That's just not how it works.

I think that might be revealed in the spring..... but can only professional beta testers test this? From the talk they need people who can tell what the problem is SOOOO what i think is that you will get to use the beta IF your Windows net account is a manufacturer of microsoft.? just a rumor

This what I did:

I reached the part where you fill in your personal information (Name Address, zip code, phone #, etc.). When I reached that part, i copied this URL: https://reg.msgamestudios.com/Default.aspx?site=Halo3Teaser&a mp;a mp;locale=en-US

Since it didn't go through, I had the URL of the page where you fill your information, so I just pasted the URL and it brings you to the page where its says click next to continue. After doing that, you'll get to the page where you fill out your information. After you do your info and hit submit, you should see this page:
http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l12/sitinthehall/halo3.jpg

This is the only way to get to it!

I'm think the reason why they asked you for home adress is because they will mail the beta test. Just like how some gamers have beta games sent to them to try out. So after playing it, we would have to send the package back with your opinions. Anyone think thats how its gonna be done?
