This sign up page experience is absolutely dreadful.
First, I had been trying to get to it for ours on my Mac. Finally I decided to boot into Windows (thank you Intel Macs!). I, of course, used FireFox and the same thing occurred. I just assumed the damn thing wasn't working at all so I switched back to OS X and thought I'd try later in the day.
In the afternoon, I tried again. Same thing the damn thing wouldn't work so I started going to various Halo sites to see what the deal was. Someone at HIH figured out you have to use Explorer and that it works. Well, yes that is the only way to get through the process ... but calling it "working" is still not accurate.
Each page took literally minutes too load, with no feedback. It just looks like the page has broken. Then minutes later something happens. So, after about 10 minutes of filling out the various pages and waiting for said various pages to load I get to the Submit button.
I am relieved I am finally done. I hit Submit and again ... NOTHING happens!!! 3 minutes later the page loads but there is almost nothing on it. Just two little links about legal stuff. No "Congratulations," no "Thank you," ... nothing!
So ... am I signed up? I guess I am. Not sure.
If I had known earlier in the day that I was supposed to be using Windows and Explorer would I be earlier in the cue and a better chance of being involved in the beta? I don't know!
I am sure MS set this page up. Even though it's all about Bungie's game I refuse to believe that the Bungie folks could make such a disasterous experience.
However, I think Bungie has responsibility to two things:
1) Communicate to us and let us know if we are signed up. I am still not confident from everything I read.
2) Or ask us to sign up again. I would do so know but I read somewhere on that site not to sign up twice.
