Ok a few things...

1). I come in here and all i see are the most stupid senseless posts imaginable... now i am a fan of casual and comedic spam, but definately not when the whole front page is filled with it. A few spam posts are fun and liven up a forum, but a whole forum of spam is boring and dead. I know many off-topic forums that are never used because of improper spam rules enforcement. What are the spam rules here, and how will they be enforced?

2). Are political posts allowed? Almost every forum i post on has some sort of occasional political debate, but its always moderated and kept civil so it doesnt degrade into a flame war. I think it could be a good addition to our discussions here as long as it doesnt get out of hand. Are you okay with this? I wont post anything of the sort untill you reply because i dont want to have it turn into a flame war while its not being moderated.

3). Has anyone seen my pickle?

i agree about the all out spam spree going on but it will wear down just as soon as everyone settles down into the forums

Political posts were disallowed, but I think only for The Underground. However, you should PM Shishka or stosh to ask them. Having said that, the rules stickied on The Underground still ban them.

political is a no go.

I would like to see some definitions of the following terms in the rulz sticky:

Highjacked
Spaming
Bumping

I am new to the world of forums, and after reading the rules, i accidently commited some of the crimes without knowing what I did. I came to find out that spamming is advertising your own thread in a more popular one???
Highjacking is changeing the subject completly???
and I belive bumping is making a random comment just to see your name on the top post.

Maybe an example of each for clarification for all the new forum goers.

PEACE

You came at a bad time, sort of a changing of the guard, so to speak. I'm cleaning up the mess right now. For some reason, people think that "off topic" means "no rules," and this simply isn't true.

2). Are political posts allowed? Almost every forum i post on has some sort of occasional political debate, but its always moderated and kept civil so it doesnt degrade into a flame war. No, political posts of any kind are not allowed. It says that very clearly in the rules listed at the top of each major discussion forum, including the Flood.

3). Has anyone seen my pickle?

For the last time, no.

I would like to see some definitions of the following terms in the rulz sticky:

Highjacked
Spaming
Bumping

These are common forum terms, so I don't feel it's necessary to create a sticky for them. However, I'll explain them on an individual basis as needed.

Thread hijacking is exactly what it sounds like- taking a thread for your own conversation, rather than the one it was created for. For example, if someone starts a thread about dual wielding, and someone in the middle of the discussion asks "Where did the Chief get the MkVI armor?" or even worse, tries to use the thread to direct everyone to his OWN thread about MkVI armor, that constitutes hijacking.

Spam is high volume/low content posting. It's also a phrase used for grossly off topic material or material innapropriate to the forum in question. Posting your love for the Yankees in New Mombasa is spam. Posting for the sake of posting, without anything to post about is spam.

Bumping is posting in your own thread to bring it to attention. Whenever a thread gets a new post, the thread is sent to the top of the thread listing. So, sometimes someone will say "bump" or something similar, in the attempt to, well, bump their post back to the top of the listing. If it's obvious that someone posted for the sake of getting attention to their thread, it will be locked.

Thanks... I am glad to see a clarification on the terms...

Makes sense.
