You've got to think crazy, of course, because you only get innovation by refining insanity. - Jason Jones

This may seem like i am obsessed, but its really not obsessed that i am, i dont know the exact word, but here is what im talking about.
Do you all remember when we met john inthe first book, he was playing king of the hill with some friends. Well i remember that moment, and from then on out, i have felt like a part of the story, i know Spartan 117 personally i feel. I have cried with him, felt the loss of his friends with him in the books. I have gone through thik and then with master chief. I feel as though i am a part of the story, i didn't play halo and soon halo 2 for the graphics, i played and am going to play it for the story line. Over the past four years, i have come to know people that work at bungie, this is my home, my life. You say, geez get a life loser, i say, this is my life, i am a gamer, and proud of it. But my question to you guys is, when we see pics, commercials for halo and halo 2 do you get goosebumps and shake uncontrollably as i do, i still do when i fire up halo and play. I think it is b/c we want to know what we are going to be doing next in the story, not b/c of the graphics or cool guns. What do you guys think?

I know exactly what your talking about. Ever since I have read all the books my connection with Halo has become more than any fictional story should become with a person. The Halo universe has become all to real in my mind, and I do have to agree, what makes me love Halo so much is the story, and the universe in which it is told.

The master chief is my god, he is my savior, he is my messiah, he is my king, he is my captain, he is my leader, he is all of those and more in one 7 foot tall metal package.

we are more than his brother/sisters, we are his SPARTANS, the only family and friends John has known. we have been there since it started, and we will be there when it ends. we will share his pain, his anger, his joy. and we will be there with john when he fires his last bullets for the war

I got a knot in my stomach when we found out his fellow spartan friends were no longer alive, they were like family.

I feel just as you do.
I played Halo once for 53 hours straight once and I still didnt feel as close to John as when I read the books. I know most peopel are waiting for Halo 2 for the new features, but what i am buying it for is the story. I love everything about the Halo Universe. I've studied it, I've SPEC'd about it, I feel like i know most of the stuff that's happened in the past, but i want to find out what happens in the future...
I accept that I am obsessed with Halo. And I don't care if people say stuff about me...

I feel reading the books gives more detail which gets me closer to the story. I am obsessed, and im proud of it.

Halo combat evolved-$50,
halo special edition xbox-$160,
all three halo books-$25,
preorder of both versions of halo 2-$105,
not being able to tell reality from the halo universe-Priceless.

I am a monument to all of your sins.

If anything just cannot go wrong ,it will anyway
.fortune wisdom

I love my Mark V helmet, no upgrade necessary.

Actually when i read the books i didnt feel like i was there with him ,but that i was him.
I find 2 good explenations for that,,
1 i played the game ,,which made me feel like i was him.
2 my name actually is John, and when i read the descriptions of the mc(in the first book) i find that i really look like him.
And ofcourse im quiete tall,(like all the spartans)
point is ,when i dive in the haloverse ,i become the chief.
(ok thats more than 2 ,,,,sue me)
