Subject: "Hidden" New Pics.

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

I've seen a couple of possible Halo 2 screens that haven't been showed before. Well, more than a couple. First is the Brute avatar, and possibly the Prophet avatar (although, yes, both creatures have been showed before, but these pics don't look the same). Also, if you go to Halo 2 under the "Games" button at the bottom of the screen, there's a pic of the Halo 2 Master Chief there that is new.

And last, but not least, I think the 343 Guilty Spark avatar is a Halo 2 rendering. Might be just me, but the way the pic shows reflection and how it looks a little bit...... crisper (or cleaner?), seems to show that its not Halo 1. This might be just me, though.

Thought some of you might find my speculations of simple things a little interesting. Nothing much, I admit, but still.... perhaps this will be the start of more finds of Halo 2 shots that are "hidden" to come...

The Guilty Spark looks like it's from Halo 1. The resolution it has is just so high that it looks as if it's got a new "skin".

I don't see what you're talking about. Can you give me a link?

I wouldn't think they would show much from the story mode, it would give away too much of the plot, but I am almost certain tht he will play a role in Halo 2.

Does Guardian of the Luminous Key ring a bell? Guilty spark was indeed a guardian of a key...

Hmm-Hmm-Hmm. I know Bungie's secrets... unofficially

Well...if any of you beat the game and payed attention long enough, you would see that after all the credits are done rolling that, none other than Guilty Spark himself, goes sputtering through space singing to himself. i can guarentee that he will be back for Halo 2. i Would bet all that i own, to say that he is making an appearance in this next game.

You mentioned this before Banshee, and it was a pretty good observation. But remember, the staff at Bungie are all chronic alcoholics; they may of thought of things for the plot that none of us could even dream to think of...

...or maybe you're just right

Either way, we're all going to find out soon

Heh. Me too... the only bad thing about it (which isn't that bad) is that you have to spend time searching for the topic you posted or replied to...

And for what I think might be a new Halo 2 Master Chief pic, go to games, click Halo 2. At the top of the screen will be a monochromatic blue pic of the Master Chief in his "Mark VI" armor.... it looks new to me.

Guilty spark and a couple of the others look old to me. Just got a new skin on them that's about it. But just wait till Friday! I hope Franky has something good planned.

I've just realised, I'm really not that oppinionated. Is that a bad thing?

  • 04.13.2004 10:04 AM PDT

Bah! The Flood were awesome. And shooting them in the head doesn't do anything. They don't need the heads of their hosts to survive... its just where they get info from them. The Flood are a very valuable asset to the Halo story line, and very interesting. And for one who plays Halo a lot, like me, and has pretty much figured out how to take down every enemy very efficiently (I'm not bragging, I know many have their ways as well), the Flood have become the only real threat in single player (no offense, Bungie). With their brute force tactics and many numbers, its always like fighting with your back to a wall.... but fun. VERY fun.

And what sci-fi story is complete without an insane and annoying AI? 343 fills in this gap for me... Annoying, yes, but very well-thought-out character, and very interesting.

I have an oppinion on this, I think the flood are cool as well, Fighting off a huge group of then on your own and eventually prevailling victorious is a most excellent feeling, and the fact that they aren't affected by the sniper rifle much is good too, otherwise in a big battle, like the end of two betrayals, you could just camp with a sniper rifle without having to worry about getting close up to finish anything off. They give the game a nice balance, I like that.

Actually, Shai Hulud none of the enemies are really that hard anymore. Once you play the game enough you learn how to take them out faster and faster. I do agree with you though, they are the enemy that surprises you the most when you least except it. But I found the key to keeping the game challenging is to only use plasma weapons. Then once that gets easy, try going co-op and not dying. Especially with someone that sucks like a little brother or parent. If anyone of you does die, restart the level. Kinda pisses you off when a marine throws a -blam!- grenade. And my last and final challenge I recently just beat with my roommate. Melee only. You cannot shoot, try it it gets pretty intense. We only did the first five levels though, becuase you can't melee the flood. And I really didn't feel like running for 16 hours straight trying to get through the Library. Anyway, if anyone trys this let me know, peace.
