Alright...
Maybe its just me but I think It would be great to have a "Gender" mark onder the avatar....
You know, I being a guy think it would be nice to know who is a girl so you know what remarks are O.K.

Opinions, Anyone?

Dave Ender suggested I post this here....

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

Wheeee! Im gettin my custom avatar anyways after I make a theme so It dont really matter.

Five Tenets of Bungie.net Forum Life:
1. Trolls will always be well fed.
2. Blame-ability thy name is stosh.
3. Bungie has no control over retail prices.
4. Watch out for low-flying defense drones.
5. Seven is not optional, but rather, an inevitability.

I don't think it would work. People would be pretending to be girls, and people may accidently choose the wrong gender. It would sound stupid if you were able to change it; it'd be like instant sex change. And before you say that nobody would choose the wrong gender on accident, there are people out there stupid enough.

That's only if Bungie chooses to use your custom theme.

Someone's confident. And did you know you're about the 20th person I've heard gloat about their theme being the best? It's insane!

Anyway, back to the subject of this thread. I DO NOT think that a gender tag would be a good idea. The reason online forums are so awesome is because you can use them no matter what the race, gender, religion, ect. and still be accepted by people that only care about your online personality. Whatever background you come from you'll still be accepted on an online forum because they're so discreet. Having a gender tag would be a *small* but still discrimitive tool that could emit stereotypes (plus the occasional wierdo that like to impersonate the opposite sex. Obbi would abuse the tag idea) and that's not what we need on these forums right now. I'm not saying that being a certain race, gender, ect. is bad, I'm just saying that because of people hating other people for certain traits they cannot change the world is a horrible place. Online forums though, are a good way of retreating from the incompetence of reality and entering a cyber world of equality.

P.S. - Whether you do give out personal info or not on the internet isnt for me to judge. I'm just saying it should be mandatory.

Yes, there is hate on these forums. But I'm not talking about the sort of hate you're talking about. People hate eachother on forums because of what they say and do; what their personality on the internet represents them as. The sort of hate I was talking about was the physical hate of life. The sort of hate that people would take one look at you and say, "That person looks like a *insert prejudicial comment here*." The sort of people that would hate you before they heard what you had to say. You see where I'm coming from?

You'd be surprised at how many guys use Mithras (Cat girl...things) on Final Fantasy 11, pretty weird actually

Having gender options would not be good. There are many times when I have played games on Xbox Live, and there'll be a female playing. For some reason, as soon as a few players realize this, they divert all their attention from the game, and focus on the female player. Sometimes these games are ruined because of some jackass trying to hit on a woman playing a game. It's not fun when you want to play a game, and some immature kids try to put the moves on some girl who is miles away and they have no chance. Not knowing who you're playing against is just better in my opinion.
