Well, i just got fraps a couple days ago, and i already like it :D

I just have one problem: When I try recording it doesn't pick up any sound.

I have the "Record Sound" box checked, but it still will not do it. I found out a little later that when i was using my new headset(Plantronics 510 usb), fraps was picking up my mic sound.....

When I have the headset in, it has "usb Audio Device" under Sound Device and "Default" under Sound Input. When I have no headset, it has "Nvidia nForce Audio" under Sound Device and "Microphone" under Sound Input

I have tried without the headset and it still will not get any sound. Does anyone know of a way to fix it, or tell me where i could get a better answer?

Thanks in advanced.

hmm well i had the trial then got the full version because i was sick of recording at 15 fps but both versions recorded sound for me, just make sure that when you do get it working not to check the sound sync box or else all the sound that it captures will be off by like 4 seconds

Or you could go to the Fraps website and ask there. Which common sense dictates that it should've been the first thing you did.

Oh well, there's not enough common sense in this place to fill a beer mug.

Well, to my knowledge, there is no forum on the Fraps website. I see nothing where I can "ask" this exact same question. Of course I checked their help section via Fraps and manually going to their website.

That is why I resorted to this forum; Fraps is commonly used with Halo PC(and of course other games). I just wanted to ask a question and see if there was anyone that could solve/aid my dilemma. You really shouldn't be so arrogant to assume I'm ignorant.

If you have any other advise on the problem at hand, please feel free to share with me.

Back to topic:

I seem to still have no sound coming up with my videos. Any care to bestow me with some other methods to help? :D

-------New Development-------
I just recently got it working(Yay! Thanks in part to ramster's link), but without my handy headset :(
Here are the settings I used to get it to work with speakers only.

Now can anyone tell me how I can get it to work with my Plantronics 510 usb Headset?

I too have the same problem, except I have the full version. For some reason the sound is very quiet. I thought maybe it was also tied in with my headphones. I tried setting the volume to max on my computer and then just tried with my speakers (which is pretty much my stereo system). Once again the feedback is at regular volume but I can still barely hear the sound played back. Doesn't really matter that much to me though considering I usually just put a song over the video anyways.

If you want sound and fraps without having to pay, just use Limewire. Everyone who said that they paid for it lied....

you know you have to be very careful if you are using Limewire. Make sure your firewall is up to date (don't even mention that you are going to be using Limewire without one) and that your virus protection is up to date (if you are stupid enough to go on Limewire without virus protection, you deserve the over 500 viruses some programs on there can give you). Also, with the loop-holes in P2P software, you can download Limewire Pro from the free version.

My graphics card has an S-video output, I have an adapter for it so I can hook it up for my TV. I want to know if I were to hook up a VCR or my TV with a VCR in it, would I be able to record without a big drop of frame rates.
If I can , how would I be able to transfer the video back from the tape too the computer for editing.

OMG, I swear, me, Igg, and ImSpartacus posted here about the triple installation thing, and now the posts are gone. What is up with the mods and ninjas these days?! They're deleting random posts in random threads just because they're bored.
