friends list? we have xfire, not that friends lists were invented by microsoft anyways for xbox live. Voice chat? we have Ventrillo and Teamspeak among other programs for voice chat, all before xbox live.
As much as I agree with you, static, and as much as programs such as Gamespy Arcade and Xfire have bridged the gap, there's no service that's so easy and smooth like Xbox Live. It's funny, because a service where you can send game invites to your friends while playing a different game, checking your friend's list to see what they're doing, sending messages, etc. is basically what PC's are good for and what consoles should be jealous of PC gamers for. And it doesn't really matter to us, static, after all, we subscribe to Xbox Live, which is a good thing.
I am not saying that xfire is the best, because it still lacks decent voice chat and integration. I was simply pointing out nothing xbox live did was anything new, nor where they the first.
may not be new but its by far and away the best
it's inheriantly the best, because it's the only service of it's kind. How ever I would disagree because I can use ventrillo or Xfire on any computer I own, It's far more portable than xbox live.
