Well, really it's simple. Don't give him your password, and hide your E-Mail address.

He won't be able to Hijack your account.

I've known people's accounts have been stolen, but only because they gave their password away. I'd be careful, and watch what you say to certain people. Trust nobody.

Don't be sad if a pastor kills you, maybe he will do your funeral for free

I am pretty sure that bungie has access to messages sent and received on the site. It would be stupid of me to lie about that because it would be fairly easy to check on the messages.

Someone said they don't think they are getting the whole story on this. If you think I am leaving anything out, then ask me. I got nothing to hide.

As his last message said he is currently serving a ban, so he apparently wasn't the one pushing the button, but he was intentionally rolling with standbyers. Check his rank and you wont disagree.

it is possible to steal someones account. it happened to me, but all I did to correct the problem was an account recovery, and change the credit card number so he didnt have the right one. It isnt a bannable offense, not by bungie, but use the xbox live feedback system, it works, well.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

Sigh. IP addresses have nothing to do with it. When you link your passport to your gamertag (or anything else, like financial info at MSN money or your bungie.net login) - you have to understand that your Passport login is the gatekeeper. This means don't "save your password" on the login box, choose a strong password, and change it every so often. And don't give out the credentials to anyone.

Just to let you know, It is very possible for someone to steal your account. It just takes some ceratin kinds of programs on the computer and no social life.

This has happened to a few people i know, All the other person needs is your ip address and they can use ceratin programs to get your account on there xbox.

This has also happened to MLG Proffesional : Walshy, as well as some other pro's.

Someone said the same thing to me once so i did some research and found that it is indeed possible.

Thats good to know and I never give out my password. Except of course every time I see a pop up add that tells me I am a winning visitor and they just need my social and bank account number.

But my question is does sending these type of messages warrant any sort of smiting?

I don't know Achronos, Lank here seems like a better source than you. He did do research. I think you are just trying to toot your own horn here.

[/sarcasm]

In all reality though, what if I never change my password, but it is so awesome that no one can guess it?

And it's your connection that's slower than turtle sex.

In........................................................Out .

Sorry to get off topic, but, on the contrary of his threatening messages, if he is pathetic enough to cheat over xbox live, he is actually the nerd, not you.

yes, but reasoning with someone dumb enough to cheat never gets to far.

I guess I was looking for a reply to this from some admin saying that, If you send threating messages through bungie you earn yourself a ticket to banville from bungie.net, and I am surprised that hasn't been what happened. So I guess I just stick the kid on ignore and that is the end of the story.

At least he got a temp ban from live and public ridicule.

Sounds like a empty threat to me. As always, keep your friends close, and your passwords closer.

So this guy cheated against me last night. He was rolling with his standby crew and after we easily scored in the first round of assault they started standbying. So he is dumb enough to cheat and have a bungie id attached so I messaged him letting him know cheating is dumb and he is going to get banned. Now he keeps messaging me telling me he is going to Hijack my account.

Here are the two messages he has sent me
His bungie login is FARID
message one

try u little girl stop wining its a damn game ight so try to threaten me il juss steal ur account

message two

hey good job but thats y im still higher than u and if u had a life u wouldnt go threw all this hassle u loser and about the spelling ur prolly still in school wit your little glasses on and cant get no booty(censored) but hey if u noitced i wasnt the one cheating halo pro was so get it str8 and if u still want ur account i suggest u start shuting up

So my first question is it a banable offense to threaten to do what he is doing? If so who do I report this to?

Second are such things even possible? Or is he just a dumb 12 year old hoping I will not report and expose him and his crew for cheating?

Just another idiot trying to be the "tough" guy by sending threats safely over the internet. If I were you I would just ignore him. And if you really dont like him/her, then try to find out where he lives so the police can deal with him/her. (Threating is illegal)

He lives in Deltona, Florida. First if you cheat it is dumb to link your gamertag. Second don;t list an email and your hometown.
