"Men cry not for themselves, but their comrades."

"A hero need not speak. When he is gone, the world will speak for him."

Sweet chapter! This one seems to be a lot more action-packed than the other ones. Keep it up!

its a hell of a lot better than anything I ever wrote, which actually isn’t saying much because I never wrote a fanfic longer than 5 or 10 chapters and I never finished them, but its still really good.

Chapter 5: Tickets, Please

The Seraph-Clas Starfighter glided into Earth's atmosphere, with numerous-though minor-damages seen throughout the ship's exterior. As the Grunt Sargeant peeked out of the vessel's front window, he could see that the skyline of New Mombasa was a mixture of orange and brown. Very bleek.
"So, where are we headed, fellas?", the Grunt sargeant asked.
"Quiet, methane breather!", squaked one of Lop's Jackals.
"Sheesh, you'd figure after what I did for y'all back there," the crimson-plated Unggoy muttered "I'd at least be shown a bit of respect."
Lop hunched over his pilot's seat, pearing through the front window, where he noticed a suitable location to land.
"Down there- near the Scarab!", Lop pointed. The pilot Jackal nodded, and the Seraph descended into a line of three other fighters. The six troops poured out of the back of the ship, and continued onto a small, metal platform. While familiar to the five, commanding Jackals, the Grunt Sargeant stared in awe towards the animalistic machine known as the Scarab (which stood just beside the small platform). The Scarab had four legs, each of which were at least 90' tall. In the front of the ground-based vehicle was an enormous, strangely horrific, plasma cannon.
"Get movin', Unggoy!", squaked Lop, who pushed the Grunt Sargeant off of the platform, and onto the Scarab. The Grunt Sargeant twitched in frustration, and headed into the the mechanical beast through a small ramp on the outer deck. The interior of the Scarab was dimly lit, with the only light coming from the several terminals on the front section (each of which were being controlled by Zealot Elites). Just then, however, the silver armored behemoth began to shake, as it moved forward on the streets of New Mombasa. Within moments, three UNSC Pelicans came moving on their position. The Grunt Sargeant watched from the vehicle's main view screen, as the Scarab's front cannon began to charge. Two of the Pelicans were immeadietly obliterated, while the other was chased down by the white-hot plasma fire of the turret sitting ontop of the mechanical beast. This impressed the Grunt Sargeant. However, deep down, he knew that the Demon would soon be here, and that they'd all have to face his wrath.

Chapter 6: "Hoo-rah!" This, Suckas!

As the four legged behemoth continued down the seemingly deserted streets of New Mombasa, the Grunt Sargeant remained on deck, and for whatever reason gazed at the city's bleek skyline. However, his focus soon turned when he heard, yet again, the Earth shaking roar of the Scarab's main plasma cannon. The beam crushed an incoming warthog, sending the LRV through the ground itself. Afterward, the crimson-armored Unggoy began to lose his balance, as the Scarab climbed over a small structure. Once the beast made it over the building, however, it was fired apon by UNSC soldiers. Of course, not even the M19 SSM rocket launcher could penetrate its armor.
"Do I have permission to fire?", requested a zealot (Elite), who appeared to be piloting the vehicle.
"Nah," replied the silver-clad captain "It's gettin' a little old, now. Let's just pass 'em."
And pass them, they did. However, as the Scarab approached the city's main bridge, one of the 90' tall legs crushed a marine, who had apparently been day-dreaming at the time of his demise.
The Scarab continued onward. Very rarely did the marines have a chance to fire apon the towering walker, despite it's size and speed. Usually, they were dealing with other Covenant soldiers on foot, or by the time they managed to get a glimpse of its front end, they were immeadiatly blasted back to kingdom come.
Eventually, the silver-armored behemoth came across a Scorpion M808 Main Battle Tank, sitting ontop of a small, bridgelike structure. The Scorpion fired its main cannon on the roof of the deck, causing the crew onboard to shake for a few mere seconds.
"Fire!!", exclaimed the captain.
And just like that, the Scarab fired yet another blast from its main cannon, and the roof of the vehicle flew straight off. As the mechanical beast approached the building ahead, the Grunt Sargeant spotted the faceless figure that he feared-though deeply knew-would show up. Yes, the Demon had returned. The Scarab crawled over the side of the building, while the Demon entered the structure, in order to reach the opposite side. When they reached the other side of the building, the Grunt Sargeant had already spotted the Demon on the landing above. Dear God, he was like a magnet, and resting ontop of the Chief's right shoulder was an M19-B SAM Missile Launcher. As the Spartan fired, the Unggoy rushed down the ramp to his left, and into the Scarab's protective shell. However, the majority of the deck crew above were shot off of the vehicle, and into the body of water, below.
"What the hell was that!?", the captain barked at the sound of the explosion.
"Your excellency, we must leave this vicinity at once!", exclaimed the Grunt Sargeant.
"Are you suggesting that we retreat, Unggoy? Get out of my site!", he said softly, pushing the crimson-armored Grunt aside. The sargeant winced, headed back on deck, and to his suprise, saw that Lop and his men were still standing.
"Listen, fellas! We've got to-"
"Save it, gas sucker!", squaked one of the five Jackals, "We're not goin' anywhere!"
"Huh? You didn't even let me finish!", the Grunt Sargeant said with frustration.
"Ah, then what didja have in mind?"
The Grunt Sargeant paused.
"Do y'all wanna die?", he asked.
"Who said anything about dying?", barked the same Jackal, "We're gonna show that guy about there who's boss!"
"Ya do know that that's the same person that we just barely escaped back at the station, don't ya?", the Grunt Sargeant asked blankly.
"Erm, well-"
"Save it!", squaked Lop, "What's your plan, Unggoy?"
The Grunt Sargeant did not answer, but instead looked below the Scarab, where a legion of Phantoms were passing by them. To him, these Covenant dropships seemed like their best shot at survival.
"Look, I don't have time to go over everythin'", the Grunt Sargeant said quickly, "But I want y'all to jump on the count of three.
"One.....
"Two.....
"Three....."
However, it was only the Grunt Sargeant and Lop that actually jumped off of the Scarab, while the other four Jackals merely jumped a few feet in the air; they then landed back on the deck of the Scarab. As the two of them watched from the roof of the speedy Phantom, the four Jackals were blasted by one of the Demon's missiles.
"Idiots.", Lop sighed.
"Damn, it worked.", the Grunt Sargeant whispered to himself, careless of the fate of Lop's men.
Approximately ten minutes after Lop and the Grunt Sargeant boarded the Phantom, the aircraft finally reached its destination. The dropship entered what was clearly a gravlift, as the stream of purple carried them into a heavy-tonnage starship. The Grunt Sargeant sighed, amazed that he was able to escape the Chief yet again. However, this experience also reminded him of his own squad, and how they would eventually need his assistance. It was then that the Grunt Sargeant asked himself, "What am I doin' here?"

Ah, yes, these past six years without those "mini-cartons" have really been a drag.

With not a whole lot o' school work for the weekend, though, I should get Chapter 7 posted tomorrow.

hey rare read this
The venerable Hod Rumnt was elected to the Covenant High Council before either the Prophets of Truth or Regret were born. His tenure has been marked by several tense debates with Elite High Councilors over the proper dispensation of Forerunner artifacts. Mercy is considered one of the last of the Old Guard - a hard-liner who has publicly questioned the wisdom of the Prophets' demilitarization at the close of the Prophet-Elite war.

I got it from the bungie store could you do anything with the prophet-Elite war?

Possibly. Depends as to whether or not I plan on doin' any more Halo-related fan-fiction after Unggoy Evolved. If anything, however, I would like to write about the Prophet-Elite war. :)

Chapter 7: Déjà vu, Déjà vu

Suspended in the atmosphere of the Gas Giant-Threshold-was a large, baselike structure. Connected on each side were a set of blue-lit energy shields. Shaped somewhat like a grappling hook, this Gas Mine hangs from a superstructure higher in the atmosphere. Just beneath the Mine, however, was an enormous vortex, sending a clear signal that a storm was soon to occur. Once the trio of Phantoms arrived, they aircrafts began pouring with Special Ops forces, Elites and Grunts all. The last to exit a Phantom and join the crew was the Arbiter, who was but a mere few feet from our three, Grunty misfits.
After heading down a series of small ramps, the squad stood face-to-face with a large, metallic doorway. A blue-armored Sangheili stood on the left of the doorway, dancing his fingers across the holopanel. Approximately fifty seconds later, the door slid open, as the squad shushed inside.
"Engage active camouflage!", ordered an Elite, "Reveal yourselves only after the Arbiter has joined battle with the enemy."
Soon after, the next doorway opened, and the now invisible troops walked forward. This next room, from what they could tell, consisted of at least five Heretics. However, each and every one of them were Unggoy. These Grunts were certainly different in terms of appearance. For instance, their backpack consisted of two, small canisters. Also, their armor-plating was a dull, ugly golden. Shouldn't be too hard, right?
Just before one Elite was able to sneak behind one of the Unggoy, an invisible Silco bumped into Pillow, revealing both of them.
"Hey, watch it!", Pillow exclaimed. And with that, each of the five, traitorous Unggoy turned their attention to the now visible Grunts.
"Uh-Oh...", Pillow said softly.
"Run!", shouted Silco, as the two of them-with Fisca (who was still invisible) following behind-ran to the right, and up a small ramp. On the next platform, a series of large, gas-contained canisters were being dumped onto the steep passageway below, and securing the area were, of course, even more Heretic Unggoy.
"Alright, Fisca," said Silco "Head down there, and take 'em out."
"What? How didja know I was here?", exclaimed Fisca, who was standing just inches from the other two Grunts.
"Oh, please, you'd be lost without us around!"
"Why me?"
"Well, since our camo is now gone, it'll take awhile for it to fully recharge. Now, stop being a Parfoise Hilton and get down there!", barked Silco.
"I hate you guys.", Fisca winced, as he walked down the next ramp, snuck behind one Unggoy, and bashed him in the back of the head with his needler. The sound of the bashing caused one of the nearby Unggoy to look backward, the sight of the body confusing him. Seconds later, he too was knocked down from the back of the head, as Fisca was definitely the fastest Grunt of the squad. Within the next two minutes, Fisca had already taken out each and every one of the Heretics within the chamber. The black-armored Unggoy deactivated his camo, pointed toward Silco and Pillow, and gave the "Come on!" signal. The other two hopped off of the platform, and followed their comrade into the next room. Suprisingly, this area of the Gas Mine did not include any threat whatsoever, but instead, a conveniently located elevator. The three, visible Unggoy stepped onto the platform.
By the time they reached the lower section of the mine, the "camo" of both Silco and Pillow was fully recharged. With that, each of them were now invisible once more. However, this did not help much, as the Unggoy standing ontop of the Seraph-fighter in the very mid-section of the chamber could see directly through their petty disguise. The Grunt fired his needler at each of them, deactivating their camo yet again.
"So, this is what the Prophets have sent to silence me, eh? You three? Ha!", barked the Grunt, who was slightly different from even his gold-plated counterparts. This Unggoy wore a slightly more crimson-coated plate of armor.
"Ah, don't you worry, pal!", spat Pillow, "We've got an Arbiter who's on his way to kick your ass!"
"Then this will be fun, after all!", said the crimson-armored Unggoy, who pulled out two, small, metallic spheres. A few seconds later, he dropped both of them onto the floor of the chamber. But instead of spawning twinned doppelgangers of himself, these two new figures appeared as empty canisters.
"Ah, for &*#$'s sake!"
