Chapter 7: Family Reunion
With yet another lifeboat on the ground, the two Grunts waited patiently for the passengers to reveal themselves.
It was only until a few seconds later when five Covenant troops left the damaged pod; They turned to be the remaining members of Pillow's crew, along with the (Elite) commander.
"Sarge, is that you?!", Pillow asked, stepping closer toward the pod. "Hey, look! It's Pillow!", Fisca clearly pointed out. "Ah, great.", Hackle said sarcastically, as he always found Pillow to be more of a noosense than an actual squad member, despite his piloting skills.
"Pillow, how in the world didja get here?", the Grunt sargeant asked.
"To tell ya the truth, I don't really know. All I remember is leaving the Hunters' planet in that Phantom, and then.....I just woke up here. What about you guys?", Pillow said.
"Same here," replied Hackle, "although I do remember Piggyback. That little bastard deceived us! The next time I see him, i'm gonna strangle him so hard, his ancestors will be feelin' it to."
While eavesdropping within the crescent-shaped rock, the fiendish Grunt gulped slightly at the mere thought of Hackle's threat.
"Well, technically, " Pillow said, trying to get off the subject of Piggyback in the best manner possible, "it was not the same for you guys, since you just got here; I've been here for days!"
"Argh, you know what I mean!", exclaimed Hackle with extreme frustration.
"Where did you guys end up, anyway?", Pillow asked.
"I dunno, some sort of alien spacecraft. From what this guy here says," the Grunt sargeant replied, pointing (upward) at the golden-armored Elite "the Covenant has some sort of grudge against these aliens."
"Unggoy, your conversation with one another is most confusing! Nonetheless, we are at war with the humans, and I will not allow this pathetic race to resume living!", the Elite said. Just then, however, a large bulky vehicle emerged from a nearby hill. The four-wheeled beast drove down the grassy terrain and caught the commander by suprise, running straight over him.
