I know practice is the primary way but what are other ways? I have read where in long range areas you should not put the circle on thier head but rather just on top with a little touching thier head. Whatever tips you pistol master's can give will be much apprieciated.

Thats bascialy it. Put it on their head so that just the bottom part of the pistol reticle is on their head. Also when you are firing the pistol repeatedly pull the trigger instead of holding it down, this way it is a little more accurate.

compton's shot the nail on the head. (not hit) One more thing, though. since the pistol is a ballistic weapon (shoots projectiles), you require a tiny bit of lead time on a moving target. By tiny i mean just touching the front end of their head with your reticle. tell me if this helps.

Pistol is the best weapon, especially in blood gulch. If you don't use pistol you are a person who is new at the game. And don't use AR. (note: I did not refer to you as a noob because Stosh will kill me with a ninja if I do)

bah

Yup, just listem to them. And set up a 400% health no shields match and use a rubber bancd to strap the other controller so the target moves. And set the dummie's sensitivity to 10 for added challenge.

All that I have to say is if your in a close range rire fight, side step and aim for the noggin. That should be suffice.

That's what I call dedication to a game. You practice using training drills. I am lost for words

You don't become a pistol master, you become a bistol -blam!-.

Nothing's more infuriating than being picked off and not knowing where it came from, having no chance to retaliate. Snipers have their contrails, and the lower firing rate and mag capacity. Pistol, well - if they bring it back (which they will), then it needs to be toned down a little, in my opinion.

I think to become awesome at using the pistol, you should do a -blam!- load of multiplayer games with ur friends and ull find that its more fun to use the pistol, and more effectrive, besides the shotgun, and when u are going from far aweay without a sniper, its great, aim for the head with anyone, theyll die in one shot, except the hunters, shoot one shot at the orange spot on their backs and they die instantly,.

I have one-shot-head-shot'd Hunters. You must aim for that little slit in the helmet.

With Hunters, you can also gut shoot them when they charge and lift up their arms.

Have a nice day!

all of these people that have answered have basically told you everything you need to know about pistols.... aiming is a key factor so praticing (yeah, i know that not what u wanted to hear) i key to learning how you use a pistol. Once you learn to use it well, you can go to tournaments like i do and kick some serious ass.....

head shots all the way, and if you are really good you should be able to get a snipershot off without the ppl niticing where it came from.

Just put the circle halfway on the top of there head and its a one hit Kill. It comes in handy when I play 16 players cuz i get one hit kills all the time.

After a while of playing you start to learn where to level the target for what enemy. When I have a hunter charging me I know just where to point so that when he swings he goes down. Same with grunts or jackles. You just get a sense to know where to aim after fighting them enough. Practice on Legendary, too. You'll have to force yourself to learn fast or be killed.

My personal favorite is setting someone up on the red mountain at blood gulch, rubber banding the control to run in circles, 400% health no shields, then go to blue base and pick him off w/ headshots. if you can do that, your a beast.

Put your sensaivity on 10... you dont want to be the slowest turner in-game. Then practice controlling it.... when you've got your turning and aiming nice and smooth aim at the head. If your target is moving, practice tracing...

Tracer practice: Halo has an auto-aim function so remember when the cross-hair goes red you're in slow-mo... if the target is far away and moving ( try ) to brake the lock-on and aim just a little infront of his head.... the more distance the further out you aim, practice makes perfect.

A little?

Try this, shoot a clip at the wall from about 30 feet (while holding down trigger) step 2 feet to the left and shoot another clip (single shots) and compare the difference. Single shots will hit the center of the reticle everytime.

If your playing a game with sheilds then you can aim for the body for 2 shots then aim for the head for the last shot. It doesn't take 3 head shots to kill someone just 2 body and 1 head.
