i dont think you can become a pistol master, you just have to practice, maby play multi. set the other 3 at the other side, and pracice, and maby get them moving, then get you parents or someone to run around in the level, and you practice, you can just go aim, shoot, dead, you can get very close though, if anyone has vice city, and has beat the game, and you go into the amunione store in downtown, and shoot the moving targets, it takes a while, but you get better and better

WORST IDEA EVER

If I ever met someone who was actually this lame, I would ridicule them for days on end...

Great question. The way I got very good at the pistol (I am a pistol -blam!- and proud of it) was by using only the pistol in multiplayer and most of campaign for a couple of days. You'll get good, believe me. Even in campaign you should only use the pistol, and, yes I do mean Elites as well. Jackals from a distance are the best training you can get, in my point of view, if nobody's around to fight in multiplayer.

The worst idea ever would be to set your sensitivity to ten.

If its above 8, doing any kind of headhunting is hard. If you turn around fast and shoot, you'll notice you are actually slower then the reticule. Plus, if the other guy is strafing well, how are you supposed to hit him if your reticule moves only in short jerks?

Anything below that is good. And to become a true pistol master, there's nothing better then the real thing. Just use the pistol in every game and level and you'll see a definate improvement over a week or two.
