for some strange reason, my computer will run Halo pc in windowed mode, but not in full screen. Also, I can't hear any sounds. ALL my drivers are updated. It worked before, with sound and everything before I got my new graphics card, but now it doesn't work

What is that new card? Is there anything in the target box that shouldn't? Can you hear any other audio? Have you checked your Halo settings?

That is probably safemode. I've never been in the full 100% emergency lockout safemode before, but I'm pretty sure that's safemode causing most of your "unnessacery" features in the game to not be shown.

Tell us your specs, maybe we can suggest some new hardware.

i have a radeon 9250. i used to have an intel internal graphics thing. i cant hear any other sounds. i have a 2.4 ghz intel celeron processor and 1 gig of ram. everything is exactly how it was before it stopped working except the graphics card. i think it may be the processor. is there any kinda cheap processor that you guys can reccomend?

edit: i have checked the settings, and turned everything down. it wont run in safemode if i try to do it when it asks me (after i restart the comp, and try to run it it asks). the comp crashes when i try to run it in full screen and i cant ctrl alt del, alt tab or alt f4 out or anything, i have to manually reboot

See if you power supply is still plugged into your motherboard and sound card, if you have one. Also, restart your computer and count how many times it beeps, and in what sequence if there is one.

No beeps means motherboard failure or no system speaker. As for the processors, an Pentium 4 or an AMD Athlon 64 are the cheaper ones I can think of, but you might be disappointed if that isn't your problem.

Did you make sure to plug everything back in when you opened your tower to install the vid card? Did you make sure to ground yourself before touching anything? Did you make sure you prayed to the PC Gods before attempting any PC surgery?

*hint hint* what do you need to do when you change your graphics card? install new drivers and?

disable the onboard graphics AND uninstall the old drivers completly

you think he would be ppsting on the computer if there was no power to his motherboard? Find me a soundcard that needs to be plugged in to a powersupply while you are at it.

*hint hint* He is still posting on it. Does your computer beep in a series of patterns when it turns on normally?

My guess would be a software issue with drivers or something similar. Try uninstalling the game and make sure you uninstall all the old graphics drivers prior to the ATI drivers.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

You probably have to disable the on-board graphics AT THE BIOS LEVEL.

Also, make sure you have installed the necessary MOTHERBOARD CHIPSET DRIVERS to control the PCI or AGP bus that your new video card uses.

Finally, make sure you have DirectX up to date, and ATI's Catalyst drivers for the 9250.
