During the first actual mission in Halo 2 (Cairo) there is a cutscene that opens up the mission. The cutscene includes the award ceremony for Sgt. Johnson, Master Chief Petty Officer Spartan- 117, and Jacob Keyes. In the scene Johson is wearing a formal white dress uniform, that is only used by the Navy and formerly by the Coast Guard, why is he wearing this? Isnt he a marine? Even though the Marine Corps is technically a branch of the Navy, it is entirely different when refering to chain of command. Why would he be wearing white dress uniform? Is this one of those changes that come with 500 years in the future, or is it just a mistake by the team at Bungie? I thought you were proud to be a marine, Johnson......

It is possible that all branches of the UNSC armed forces were amlagamated into one but retain special ranks for their "area" of operations. A real world example would be the Canadian Forces. Oh yeah, this should be in New Mombasa.

UNSC isn't just the marines, it's the Navy, Ariforce, Army, you name it, they're all on the same side.
