Sweeeet.

I'm sure Bungie knows what they're doing. Plus, I'd rather have them focus on Halo 3 rather than delay it at all making content for Halo 2.

Same.

"The debts of meat will live on in eternia." -lukems

that group photo reminds me of that new Weird Al song.

anyway, this news doesn't change my expectations for H2 maps and H3.

I don't know much about the update but I wanted to be the first to post.

sw00t!!!

Well done Vista... missed it by 'that much'.

I wondered what was cooking when Bungie started sending people to Austin. Everything is happening in accordance with the prophecy.

How many plumbers does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Three.

well, certain affinity's trademark symbol finally explains those odd, matching scratchmarks i saw on master chief's visor in the "starry night" halo 3 commercial.

Brat,

1. WAIT for them to be released.
2. Turn on Xbox 360 (as that is who they are targetted for)
3. Load Halo 2 Disc
4. Connect to Xbox Live
5. Message will eventually show up that says "new content available, download now?"
6. Click "yes"
7. Halo 2 shuts down
8. XBox 360 Conent Download menu appears
9. Pay the small fee
10. Download the content (3 maps..should take 10 minutes)
11. Get stuck in Xbox 360 content download do loop..but hey download it as many times as you want...its only time.

Thats it...The most important step above...is WAIT FOR THE MAPS TO BE DONE! (runor has it...in the article that got you to this Forum...was that they will be released after the New Year no later than Spring...hmm that sounds like Halo 3 too.

I would say its time to start watching the Company ...Certain Affinity!

If the founder is the guy who invented the on-line multiplayer environment for Halo...then this guy has a huge future...there is no game out that has a better online multiplayer experience than Halo 2...and it is almost 3 years old! read up on the new Halo 3 multiplayer online system and it sounds "sweet" See EGM December 06 issue on Halo 3..or browse over at 1 up.com for a little less detail.

As for Bungie farming out work to Certain Affinity..Great Business Decision..allows them to continue to get QUALITY work done, by people they KNOW are capable of delivering, and at the same time keep their already overwhelming work load in check.
As far as Certain Affinity, when the new maps get delivered, you the USER will get to see what they are capable of, and this in turn will make you a potential CUSTOMER of theirs...its a win-win-win situation between Bungie, Certain Affinity, and You the customer.

A witty signature you say ! ? well at the moment i have nothing witty that springs to mind, so sory..................nope still nothing.......

ahhh so it all makes sence now, that's how bungie manged to make new maps for halo 2 whilst still developing halo 3......Get someone else to do it ! lol. cool update sketch, looking foward to the new maps just as much as halo 3. I hope Certain affinity go on to create great games that amaze and intertain just like bungie and i wish you guys great success as developers.

Congrats to Max and Chad and the rest of the team! I wish you guys the best of luck.

Above all, don't forget, all FPS games have their origins in 14th century rural France, where pea-shooters were invented by little kids who were tired of the weasly monks laying down the smack. Then of course came catapults, cannons, and iron maidens, which are strictly MMO!!

:P

But seriously, best of luck! See you guys on Live.

Lord, I was born an 'Amblin' Man.

Two things struck me as interesting other than the obvious.

#1 - I was just thinking the other day, I wonder how many people remember Bungie before they moved to Redmond, so that was quite a coincidence.

#2 - Why didn't they ask him anything about the game he was going make was or in general about? Max hinted at it several times. Not to mention that Certain Affinity's website doesn't say much about their future plans. It almost looked like an outsourcers shop as opposed to a true development studio. I guess it is early though.

Now that's funny! Besides we all really know that it started with endemic warfare between tribal warriors for cattle and women. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endemic_warfare

I'm sure the new maps for Halo 2 will be very interesting. Let's hope they don't know what they're doing so they fill 'em full of fun lil' glitches.

That was a joke.
