I would like to see this happen so i could get a look at what i'm joining before i do, but it does pose a problem for certain groups.

Which of course goes to the option idea.

What might be an interesting "solution" would/could be the "viewable by" dialog that group admins are used to seeing when posting news items.

It would be in interesting security role that would allow an admin to "make this thread viewable to guests". That way, if nothing is changed, the group's forums remain private. But if an admin selects and flags a particular thread or threads as "visible to guests" it would allow non-members to view the traffic of that particular thread.

The question would be, does the forum system allow view security at a thread level?

I don't know.

I disagree with that idea because it arouses suspision that a chapter might be hiding some dirt. If you hide an entire forum people would think "Fair enough, it's that chapter's buisness not ours."

You think it got what it takes to be..?.

God forbid you send me one of those I was checking for cool gamers and saw you messages too, I will scream to the top of my lungs and smash this damn screen/BlackBerry to pieces! You've been warned -_-

No, I think the ability to see other Chapter forums is a bad idea if you're a nonmemeber because a chapter founder can view your forums and copy other chapter's style. That's totally not cool. There are biters as well as idiots.

Biters= Copycats.

Ya i think it would be pretty cool for people to view the groups without them being members of one. Cuz it helps the people out who need to get people on the group. As a matter of fact i'm one of those people who need people on my group. So if anyone is interested just send a message to my email address. dirtylocs559@yahoo.com
My group is CaLi2DaBoArDer

I say nay....the point of groups is privacy. That's like, half the point of their existence. If the public was allowed to look inside (even with premission from the Admin.) it's defy the point of privacy. Plus not all members of a group would want non-members being able to see them post somewhere private. Non-members have too many privilages, I think. It doesn't exactly take much to join a website; Bungie's completely free and takes ten-minutes to set up. Half the joy of the 'site is browzing through forums, by joining you just get to post/reply....

That's just I.M.O. It's not a bad idea, just not one that appeals to me.
