I've said this before but I really need someone at bungie to see it, as it would make side-seat gunning much less fiddly.

(Bungie may have already fixed this but I wanted to talk about it) When in a side-seat I constantly hop out accidentally after expending a clip of my weapon. Why? Because the reload button is over-ridden with the bail vehicle button.

I think it would make more sense to use the A or B button to bail a vehicle so that you can reload a gun without having to get out, reload and get back in. Besides, these buttons (in the origianl halo) were never used while in a vehicle. With the exception of A.

(but you could make a ghost wheelie with the b-button instead and if the Left Trigger now handles the hogs Brakes then the A button will be free....)

I think this should be considered (if something similar isnt already in) as it would be fairly easy (im guessing) to implement into the game, and would make side-seat gunning MUCH less fiddly!

However, If you think that not being able to reload in the side seat makes it more strategic and balanced I want you to forget what I just said. I sure hope a bungie employee considers this, I think it would work...

P.S. Does anyone else agree? (and im sorry for wasting time if it has been addressed before)

If you're in the side seat, you should either be only throwing grenades or just hitching a ride when you have the flag in CTF. You can't aim at all from the side seat, so no point shooting your weapon from there.

And the left trigger doesn't handle the brakes on the hog. It honks the horn.

Yeah, I never really had a problem when riding in the side seat with a weapon. It may have got me once or twise, but its not really that big a problem. You can avoid it by simply not reloading until the clip is empty.

Yeah, I agree its not a big problem, it only happens rarely to me but I was just thinking it would be less riddly as I said... Then again, learning new controls would be annoying too I guess

Relax.

You hold down the X button to board or bail from a vehicle, tap it to reload.
Also of note on the Warthog in particular, left trigger is Emergency Brake. Right Trigger is the Horn.

Well, I love the side seat. It's fun and not quite so bad as people think if you have the right weapons. The Shotgun is excellent when... well, riding shotgun. So is the rocket launcher for anti-vehicular responce. When the ghost is being hounded by the LAAG they're too busy dodging then peering to see what's going on in the side seat.

I agree, maybe they should make the a button the "exit this vehicle" for the passenger only... I love being in the passenger spot with a rocket launcher. I felt as thought IW as in the ultimate tank =P
