Subject: QUOTE button

maybe it would be good to have a just plain quote button as well, so that you can quote someone faster. and you don't need to hit reply, wait for it to load, then hit quote, wait for it to load. it would just be hit quotre, wait for it to load and post.

What if you hit it by accident?

Then you could just delete the quote and it'd be like a normal reply...

I don't know what kind of computer you're using, but mine's like a year old and the quotes load supa-fast. I think it's fine the way it is.

Become the hunter.

I like it this way, but that's cause it's what I'm used to.

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Why fix something that's not broken.

For the record, i'd piss my self silly if there was an Armatik action figure.

"Lazy -zapp!-, what the hell are you doing playing with me? Get to work lazy ass."

Exactly. Why avoid something that makes life easier?

You say tomato; I say potato.

I think it is a good idea, but it would have to wait till the next big update.

  • 12.14.2006 7:18 PM PDT

for all of you, I have a fast computer, but why click that many more times?

This is a signature.

In it's current position, it serves almost no good, and, therefore, there is no reason to put anything important into it.

Wow... when you think one is "that many more..." What is this world coming to?

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I don't see anything wrong with this idea. It would be easier to quote someone, and it wouldn't be any easier to abuse than the system now.

Although, I don't think its necessary either. The way we do it know works just fine, so there is no need for a change.

The way it is now might, just slightly, dissuade people from making quote pyramids. I don't know if a few seconds makes much difference anyway.

All in all, this would be a decent extra feature, but not so much better that it would make posting that much different. And, the web team is proud that their board is a little different than most other boards, so I doubt that they'll do anything to make it seem like they copied someone with a "reply" and a :quote: button.

Its a forum. You should be used to clicking your brains out by now. And on the funny note, I was here for like 8 months before I knew there was a quote button. I was like 'How do they quote me so fast? And how come everybody knows to bold the Posted by: everytime?' Feel free to laugh at my expense.

I think that's a pretty good idea, but I think I have one to 1-up you:

There should be a checkbox next to every players' post(s). These check boxes would be for quoting, and when you clicked reply, quotes of everyone who is checked would appear consecutively in the box, ready for you to reply to. If you checked no one, it would be a normal quoteless reply.

You're not alone. It took me about 3 months to figure that one out too.

Not that many people quote other people in their posts, so I don't see how this feature would be that useful. Sorry.

Guys, guys. I think A Dumb Door has made a very good point. When you click that many more times, it could possibly make your finger fall off. Nice job, A Dumb Door, I forgot about that risk.

No, it's fine how it is.

I mean, it's a good idea, but it's asking for too much.

No need to be lazy, clicking one more button only takes about three seconds.
