Or you could just get a mp3 recorder that records sound off your sound card and play the trailer

Or you could just rip the audio from the movie using Qucktime Pro... but this is vastly different from that. It's not mixed for a trailer, it's mixed as a piece of stand-alone music, not to mention the absence of the dialog and sound effects present in the trailer itself.

Arg, why no free download on Bnet like with the Halo 2 trailer score? i dont use Itunes, and i cant be bothered creating an account.

And do you really need us to buy it, surely the track will be on the Halo 3 soundtrack? and we'll all get that wont we...

Not that i care about paying 99c for a song from Halo 3, its just the format that it comes in and the restrictions implied.

  • 12.14.2006 6:15 PM PDT

Rawr!

1. I don't feel like installing iTunes on my computer. I don't own an iPod, and this would seriously be the only thing I would use ITunes for.
2. However, its on my brother's computer downstairs. I see its $.99 however. Pretty lame, really. Guess you're just looking to make a quick buck again.

And I hear ya, quicksilver.

Frank O'Connor is a 12-year veteran of the videogame magazine industry and has therefore never worked an honest day in his life.

I agree. Not only did it take 8 months to get out on the marketplace but you charged for it. And you leave out a huge fanbase that doesn't own (or doesn't want) Itunes. I understand you want a profit but you banked so much from halo 2 and you can let one track go for free. Not to mention the fact that many people will end up buy the CD anyway. oh well guess I'll find it somewhere else.

Sweet. But what about Zune Marketplace? Is there any chance we get to see "Finish the Fight" in the Zune Marketplace?

iTunes is good....

Anyway, I can't really see how they charge for the music, but the video which includes the music is free... Anyway, it's only 99c (US, it would be $1.60 on Aussie Music store).

It aint on the Aussie Music Store at all.

C'mon bungie, what are ya doin chargin us for a single song and then leaving us to the restrictions of Itunes. it aint your style to do something like that.

  • 12.14.2006 6:33 PM PDT

This honestly is a major let down. I don't understand why this would be done this way. iTunes is probably the worst possible choice for the distribution of such an amazing piece of audio, since it is so controlling. I'm sure I speak for many of us when I say I will not be downloading this from iTunes. I'll just wait until the soundtrack comes out.

  • 12.14.2006 6:36 PM PDT

Hug it out!

GT: Mac504tx

Why would the track be put on iTunes? Microsoft vs Apple anyone?

  • 12.14.2006 6:42 PM PDT

that which is not dead can eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die.

soo...when can we expect this is a "downloadable" form...

I hope I dont get blacklisted for asking that.. *gulp*

Wow, cool song... about time he released a version of the trailer music! haha

Didn't have any trouble d/loading from the Canadian store...which is odd, because we usually get pwned.
