Subject: On November 9th Lets All make history IF we Donate $1 Dollar per ga...

You are not a mistake; God has never said "oops." Seek Him and you will find Him. Do not seek Him, and you will not find Him. He respectfully leaves the choice up to you.

A great idea, we'll have to rely on the big guns to make it well-known, not everyone visits the forums, and sadly, not everyone visits halo.bungie.org which a large majoirty of Halo gamers do. I'd donate at least a dollar, if not more. Perhaps it should be set up so that you can donate based on something like your Xbox Live account and/or the store at which you pick up the game? That would be cool. We just need to remember that people are lazy, and if the process of giving away their own money isn't made painfully obvious to them, there's a good chance they'll walk on by, and just claim that it was too difficult to find, or that there were too many things going on at the time when they saw it, or everyone in the store was too busy to answer their questions. So yeah, on another note, if you are a Christian referring to Heaven, way to go putting it in a post. But, my friend, you might confuse people or help support that idea going around out there that "all Christians that try to tell you about God are hypocrits anyway" by referring to a "list" that God has. God doesn't work by that. If it were merit-based, then we'd all be up the creek without a paddle - which is why Jesus came 2004 or so years ago - to give us a paddle and then help us onshore, heh. Another thing is that, "Angel" being my name in Halo, I have learned a lot about them, and one of the things I learned was that they are a separate and distinct race, created specifically as creatures of worship, and that, though we now are "below" them in "status" (think of it this way - they can stand in God's presence - if we tried that now, we'd be killed instantly) after entering Heaven, we will be "above" them in "status", insofar as we will be on Jesus' level when we get there, all citizens of the Kingdom of God.
But anywho. Just wanted to get that out of the way, as there are many people (especially gamers) who are agnostics or just don't know what to believe, and I saw this as kind of like something like the reviews that you'll sometimes see of Halo that get most of it right, but then say something like "Eric Nylund is responsible for the whole Halo story" or "The Master Chief and the Covenant have to team up and work together against the Flood". It hits just left of the bulls-eye, you know what I mean? So, though I'm not out here preaching, (so don't flame me plz) I am making certain that when people are informed about a choice that they have, they are informed correctly, and are not misinformed due to common, innocent mistakes in what the culture at large believes about how God works.

Thanks for getting this idea out there! This could end up doing a lot of good, and it really could put a new spin on the hardcore gaming elite out there as being more than the stereotypes depict us as! Plus, even if it were a year later that everyone who bought Halo2 ended up giving a dollar to a charity such as MAWF, as long as it all got there, that would be easily $5 million right there. Good luck with getting that into the public consciousness.

-Angel

There is a paypal website to donate to that Penny-arcade.com put up. There are already multiple donations to the site. Go to the IGn xbox board or the IGN halo board for a link to donate to.

Great idea, , and good point, angel... Someone set up a poll, and pick a charity... Hurry up, because times runnung out... unless we did it for the whole month of November... Like a month long campaign, So that everyone has a chance... Help, and make it really easy , or like what's-his-name said, everyone will just be really lazy, and do nothing...

...So on HALO 2 Tuesady give $1 dollar to the Make a Wish Foundation or we can all decide on a charity. Bungie can suggest one. Someone e-mail Frankie or Shishka...

We need to pick a charity now if we want the word to get out there. KilaOne started this idea so I think he should have the final say in it. Either that or we take some time to quickly vote on it. Either way I want to call all the Video Game places nearby so we can get this set up!

These are the options I've heard the most:
1. Make-A-Wish Foundation® International
2. The Entertainment Software Association (ESA)
3. Multiple Sclerosis Association Of America

If you have another one I'll edit my post (be sure to give me the web site).

Also, this is the story on HBO

Everyone post your vote. Preferably with the number included (and try not to double post)

https://www.habitat.org/donation/generaldonation/donation_for m.aspx

When it asks who you wish to dedicate it to, say bungie or halo 2

Great idea, lets do it

I have a friend who is working for Habitat for humanity right now in Egypt, he says that it only costs about $1,900 for an entire home for a family there, but they have so little money that most peopel cant afford that, l let alone heating and water.
A donation would show the world what games can really do for the world, a game of unifying the world for a common goal deserves this.

God bless

https://www.habitat.org says

Hope this helps, its easy to donate online just use a debit/credit card, im sure there may be other ways as well, but heck it took me 5 minutes

What is Habitat for Humanity International?
Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action.

Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need.

Habitat has built more than 150,000 houses around the world, providing more than 750,000 people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. HFHI was founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller along with his wife Linda.

How does it work?
Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the homeowner (partner) families. Habitat houses are sold to partner families at no profit, financed with affordable, no-interest loans. The homeowners' monthly mortgage payments are used to build still more Habitat houses.

Habitat is not a giveaway program. In addition to a down payment and the monthly mortgage payments, homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor -- sweat equity -- into building their Habitat house and the houses of others.

What does a Habitat house cost?
Throughout the world, the cost of houses varies from as little as $800 in some developing countries to an average of $46,600 in the United States.

Habitat houses are affordable for low-income families because there is no profit included in the sale price and no interest charged on the mortgage. Mortgage length varies from seven to 30 years.

This is an excellent idea, the only things that may pose problems other than informing everyone about this would be getting the stores to follow through and finding a way to send the money, either by giving it to your local game store by them collecting the money and sending it all at once, or by MS or Bungie setting up a service to collect the money.

Man, I would donate my left nut if I could just get Halo 2 fuc[<ing sooner!!!

I can see how much you like Halo 2. Same for me of course, but I put the line at donating my left nut. Albeit my right one either. I like to keep them intact as long as possible. Who knows, they might come in use later.

But other than this strange man, I would pretty much agree with everyone else here. That would raise a lot of money. Like I said before, I cant believe this wasntg thought of sooner. HALO 2 DONATION FUND! Yeah, it sticks.

Holy cow!

I never knew that there were internet guys out there that were this nice!
I've been hacked while playing Diablo2 and all sorts of -blam!-, I was coming to believe that the net was just a place where -blam!-s hung out! lol

But anyway this is awsome, I'm definatly donating $10, because I know that some people out there will say something like, "yeah good idea, but I don't need to put any money in, because all the other people will."

Well what happens if everyone says that, then everyone will be thinking that there is going to be heaps of money put in, when none is! So for all those people out there that are reading this, please don't just think that it will be nice and dandy and all will be good if you don't donate, actually put money in! its only $1

And $1 can go a long way in those countries, I mean that could probably feed a family for a day! And then if all of your friends donate, then thats feeding them good food for a good week or more, You are saving peoples lives!

Anyway enough of my blabbering, thanks for showing me that the net isn't just a place asses hang at!

Good job!

I was just wondering, how will this work, I live in New Zealand, so it would have to be an international big charity, so that I can donate easily without the hassle of internet banking and the exchange rate e.t.c.

Thats not just me either, heaps of other people that don't live in the US probably won't donate because of that hassle. Like that guy before said, make it easy so that lazy people donate too.

(oh and thats just a coincidence that my member signature talks about $1 for every Halo 2 fan, total coincidence)

So.... Has anyone sent something to Bungie about it or are we just going to discuss it some more? We need some solid feedback people!!! Less than 10 days to get the word to millions of people.

If anyone has connections w/ people at Bungie E-mail them or something RIGHT NOW!!!

It's hard to tell people to give away their money when you don't know who everyone else is giving it to.

We all need to be giving it to the same place not a 100,000 different places!

*BUNGIE NEEDS TO PUT AN OFFICIAL LINK ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE SITE*
