You are not a mistake; God has never said "oops." Seek Him and you will find Him. Do not seek Him, and you will not find Him. He respectfully leaves the choice up to you.
Hey guys, don't worry about this fragmenting out of control. The only way we're gonna get this to work is with help from larger entities such as Bungie or Microsoft or The Electronic Software Association, so, once things get off the ground, they will help in narrowing the donations into one cause. Yes, there are many charities that can be given to, but we should choose just one because it will help a lot more than donating a little to a lot of charities. There is a good reason why it should be an international charity, and that is that USA Halo fans aren't the only ones who want to participate in this. As such, people (like in New Zealand ;) ) would probably be more willing to donate to something that benefits people worldwide rather than just in the 'States. That said, there are still a lot of choices for a charity out there, and hopefully the higher-ups will help in polling the community (and perhaps informing them of some good choices) for their choice of a charity. Now then, regardless of what charity it is, I'm sure it will be a worthwhile one - so let's not feed the idea of "well, they didn't pick MY charity, so I'm not gonna participate", okay? No matter what choice is made for the charity, let's pursue our goal of 'giving a dollar to it for every copy of Halo 2 sold' a reality by participating should Bungie or the ESA or whomever help us by making it as easy as a button click or dropping a dollar in a jar at our retail store or whatever they end up doing. Imagine feeding/housing/warming THOUSANDS of people because of a team effort by people who are in love with Bungie and its wonderful games..
Would rock much.
Even if not everyone who bought Halo 2 did give a dollar, those who donate $2 or more just 'cuz they felt like it would probably make up for that. We are the hardest of the hardcore members of a gaming community out there, NO ONE comes close to the brother-like atmosphere of being a member of the Bungie Community if you get involved. That said, we can accomplish things that other gaming communities could not , should we set a straight path and determine to go about travelling it. Good luck, all, and let's hope this gets off the ground.
