its like a large force of win going through fusion, thus creating a chain reaction of a huge asplosion of win destroying any fail within its awesomeness.

I like your whole "biography" but I don't see what you're trying to get at.

Are you trying to say what a moderator does, the advantages, how to become one, act.

I'm not 100% sure, just 99.9%.

I think Raven's lesson is twofold, though he only actually has one lesson. It seems that one goes to the community, and one goes to other Forum Cops.

I think Raven is trying to tell the community that just because someone is helpful does not mean that that person is trying to become a moderator. Some people try to inform other members of the rules in order to look good, and some people try to inform other members because they feel those members need some guidance.

I think Raven is trying to tell the other Forum Cops that it is pointless to go around and be a "Forum Cop" in order to be recognized.

Exactly. Mind if I quote that in my post?

Okay, thanks.

See, now I've got something to say!

Anywho, I think you've got a good point Raven. For instance, I go to a Spam thread that says, something like "Hello!" Then the (usually) new member says hi, and introduces himself/herself. Somebody comes in, and is nice and says, "Welcome to Bungie.net! Glad to have you as a member. Before you post, please read here so you don't get Blacklisted."
Then the bad "Forum Cop" will say, "Wrong Forum." or "N00b." or "Go away."

You know what I'm talking about. I mean, people that try and help the Bungie Community, are doing the right thing in my opinion. People that meanly welcome the new member are bad for the Community.

"Good" Forum Coppers that provide links do an okay job, but the snobby ones that provide the link with something rude are annoying to have around.

I believe you may be speaking about another person. From my point of view a forum cop is a helpful member, from your example, the people within that group was a bunch of "mod-wannabe's".

I declare that we should put a vote as to define what terms are with what definitions. This would make life a bit easier, and not to mention us forum cops(as a whole) can actually stick with one name. This jumping back and forth with terms and definitions is giving me a headache.

I'm not talking about anyone in particular. I'm saying the term "forum cop" is a poor choice of words if you're defining the genuine people here on B.net who are helpful without being condescending and/or rude. To me the term "forum cop" has a negative connotation.

TO THE NEIGHBOR'S!!!

We just need to remember the reason that we visit the Forum is because we love Bungie or for some, just Halo.
We are fans and we gather here to be close to the source of our fanboism. Its a good thing to want to be an active part of the community.

That is what I mean, there are two sides of the term "forum-cop". One side being positive and one side being negative. In a thread like this we should have a firm and adequate description of the word/term. That way me and you, or two other people, will not be so confused as of what the other is talking about. That is all I am trying to say. Is to firmly define the term and make is so all may see it. My point is, is that many people percieve the term differently.

I'm not that active, but never dead.

I consider forum cops to be people that are only being helpful so they can become Moderators. "Helpful active members" as I call them, are just helping for the sake of being helpful and don't have a hidden agenda.

Or at least they don't have a hidden agenda that revolves around being a moderator. :p
