Let's think about this, Bungie Studios hs been putting out some high quality stuff. I think that one of the best aspects of the Halo experience has been the music they use it in. Any have favorites from any Bungie games?

I perticularly like the music from Blaspheme Quarantine (Marathon), the one where you first meet Durandal. It's really creepy despite the uplifting 'bouncyness' of the music. When put into context of what's happening in D's head hammers the point home. Has D really acheived enlightenment, or is he just crazy?
Of course, the main themes from M2 and Infinity absolutely rock as well.

EDIT: Wow, I just want to add that the UG has become really slow since the update. While it's disheartening to see so many posts in the flood rather than intelligent discussion here, I'm glad that people are keeping the boards focused.

I've always liked "Covenant Dance" and of course the "Seige of Medrigal".

Marty has a great range of talent, with everything from "Siege of Madrigal" To "The Maw" to "Rock Anthem for Saving the World," and that's just Halo (aside from Madrigal, since it's just a cameo). I can't wait for the Halo 2 soundtrack! Honestly though, my favorite "hard" tracks in Bungie games are the marathon 2 and infinity themes. Awesome techno goodness. Kudos to Bungie's devotion to quality in sound!

Yeah, if only the Marathon sequels had actual soundtracks. Don't get me wrong, ambient noise rocks, but certain things just need musical accompaniment.

As an aspiring band director/composer, I really enjoy the work that's gone into the music of Halo. In fact, I've modeled a lot of my pieces after ones in Halo I liked (such as Devils... Monsters...).

That wasn't Konoko Chase. Konoko Chase was techno stuff. You are thinking of Hurry (it's sorta like On a Pale Horse from Halo, but actually good, cos it isn't synthesised and it's spiccato which is always cool. Plus it doesn't have that cliché "1-2-3 1-2-3 1-2 1-2 1-2-3 1-2-3 ... rhythm. That is overused.). And I don't think it was on rooftops - just on the TCTF Lab level after Kerr dies. That was stupid. I had a force shield, but stupid Kerr takes the Mercury bow shot that wouldn't have hurt me. Good job, idiot. =)

What are we talking about again? I like the win screen music from Myth. That was pretty cool. So was the Soulblighter motif cello theme thingy.

Well, while is Flinstone Kids jingle still haunts me at night, I personally think the bit of chant in the beginning of Halo is the best.

I'm going to have too be a little cliche, but I'll have to go with the monks is the opening of Halo. That has become a renowned sound that everytime someone fires the game up they have to hum the toon. Marty is the man! Its the first sound track for a game that I ever bought and probably always will be. Until Halo2 of course.=)
