It looks like I'm going to be getting the Radeon X1300 PCI this Christmas, because getting a PCI-E card will result in me spending more money than I have. Does anyone use this card? Does it run well?

not to steal your thread or anything i just didnt feel there was a need for a new thread since mine is the exact same question but,
would the intel graphics media accelerator 950 found here be any good? im getting a new laptop and this is the only card that is avilable and was just wondering if it was an ok card able to run halo smoothly?

im guessing the card you are getting is ok, i was going to get it with my desktop before i decided to switch to a laptop

My radeon 9250 runs halo pretty good and its a junker. The X1___ is a good series. Its runs really well on my friends computer.

That's integrated graphics. Integrated graphics suck. I have the IGMA 900.

can it create good picture, im not worried that it is integrated my sytem will handle anything, i have integrated on my pc and it can handle it in 1024x768 with everything on high settings. the only problem is it slows my pc down but my laptop will have more power, my pc has the 910 GL and would the GMA 950 be better?

btw how good is your computer

alright which would be better:
celeron 430 processor (1.73GHz) with GMA 950
or
AMD Sempron 3500 (1.8GHz) with NVDIA GeForce Go 6150- is this integrated?

I have a P4 running at 3.06 Ghz, but I also have DDR RAM, so that may be a problem.

However, the Radeon Xpress 200, running DDR2 RAM, and a 64bit AMD chip runs it worse than I do.

They would both run most games pretty bad.
They would both

x1300 is horrible, you'll run 1024x768 at like 50 fps and 1280x1024 at like 20.

t3heford, what game/application are you talking about?

For halo, anything above a 9200 is pretty much all you need.

Not if you want good graphics at a high resolution at a high framerate anything above a 9200 is not ok.

The difference between my 9200 and 7800 is relatively minimal. I don't care what the framerate is, as I use my eyes to determine. I really don't care if it's 200 fps vs. 60 fps as long as it doesn't stutter.

Hey Pet0sh do you have your Radeon 9200 overclocked or is it at default settings. Cause my Radeon 9250 only gets about 35 fps at 1024x768 with settings on high.
Anything more then 80 fps in a game is a waste cause most monitors only have a refresh rate of 75 fps.

no it's not overclocked, and it's running at 1280X1024. Obviously it's not as good as my 7800, but it's pretty much good for all halo purposes.

you get 60 fps at 1600x1200 maxed details with your 9200?

alright i decided to get a desktop again, would this be a good gaming rig? not just for halo but for other games.
-AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800
-2GB DDR2-533MHz dual channel SDRAM
-256MB NVIDIA GeForce 7500LE

and this should do a lot better than my
Pentium 4 (2.8)
512MB RAM
Integrated Intel graphics

right?
