After playing halo pc and halo2 xbox since their release I think I can give a fairly good comparison on the two. If the controller has as much auto aim as in the xbox version then god help all us mouse users... I can pretty much 4/5 shot a person nearly every time with this auto aim as it’s that efficient. Sure the mouse is good but with this amount of auto aim the controller can defiantly rival the mouse with ease, which is a bit worrying... I would like to use the controller with this aim again on the pc... but we will see ;)

what you guys think anyway?

If they do incorperate that kindof auto aim, then some weapons will have a distinct adavantage. Most of the close range weapons and the BR will have a better chance with the controler. However, if you plan to launch a 11mm round into someones skull from three miles away, then I bet your probably going to want to use the mouse and keyboard. Personaly, I have no idea how this will play out, thats why I'm going to test both of them to see which will take my favor.

There is no way in hell thats going to happen. For two reasons...
1) Bungie already announced auto aim
2) Controlers NEED some kindof auto aim to compeat with mouse and keyboard. Though I think there shouldn't be "as much".

You should try the Fatal1ty 1010. It's very cheap, but absolutely better than its prize :) Especially in fast-paced actiongames like we do play.

I think the controller is a damn good device for machinima and partystyle gaming, but I like more the keyboard + mouse combination in "real" matches. Of course the nice modderguys may create a "u nubs cant play with those danm controllerz"system for some servers. But I have nothing to say about the autoaim, havent tryed yet.

i totally agree with the guy!
my mx518 pawns that G5 junk any day....
first cause it has no lag
second cause it has more buttons
third cause i highly doubt anyone will use more than 1600 DPI in a shooter...i either use 400 or 800...after that it`s pointless

If the auto aim is as heavy as the xbox version I might just use the controller. It might even be heavier to compeat with the Mouse + Keyboard.

Whoo Mx518 here also.

But the Mx series and the G5/G7 are already pretty old/outdated and most definitely no longer the best.

Look people, mouse and keyboard cannot be beaten. Normal dell mouse, quiet key keyboard or watever its called and BANG BANG BANG three headshots and your down.

Johnny Wilkinson I am not.

Lets go LEINSTER!!

Macs can use multi-button mice and have been able to do so for quite some time.

Despite Halo 2's extreme amount of game-crippling Godly auto-aim with a controller, I'm still confident that I could hold my own with a mouse and keyboard anyday against somebody with a controller, whether he/she had auto-aim or not, if it came to it. I hope that it never comes to it though. I don't want auto-aim, damn it!

Mouse and keyboard > controller.

Not a mac lol, the logitech G5 mouse.

It work with Macs, as do most USB input devices on the market.
Even the mice that come with Macs have left and right click.

By the way, I think computers are tools– Mac, PC, doesn't matter as long as the job gets done. It's just that your gripe is a bit out of date.

There is no device in the world that is better than the mouse for pointing and clicking. Fingerpads suck, styluses blow, and analog sticks are craptastic. Halo as with any other FPS is basically point and click to kill the enemy. And the mouse is easiest and most accurate tool to do that.

I used my 360 controller for Halo PC for a while and it was terrible, too freaking sensitive. I touched the left one just barelly and my guy started strafing all over the place.

Keyboards and Mice = win.

I think your all forgetting about how strong/ accurate the auto aim is in halo2 xbox with the controller.. thats why I think it could rival the mouse

And how long before somebody hacks the game so they can use controller auto-aim with their mouse?

Great going Bungie, you've managed to ruin multiplayer before the game even ships.
