Ever really think about it? Winnie the Pooh... His name is obviously Winnie, followed by the title 'the Pooh'... now is this an honorific title of some sort? or does it mean that he is not a stuffed bear at all but something more? At any rate, whatever he is, he seems to be the only one of his race/title, hence 'the'... If there were more, he would be 'Winnie Pooh' or 'Winnie a Pooh' or simply just 'Winnie'... but as it is, we must ask ourselves... What is this yellow entitiy's real purpose?

'Winnie the expression of disdain and scorn'... I like it... Though I guess he is a demon after all.

His name isn't Winnie either -- It's Edward.

There is nothing special about it. And it definetely doesnt have a horrific name. The name is just there to make little kids laugh and like the show about it. In fact now i wish that i had never bumped this pathetic thread.

Not exactly correct - Winnie-ther-Pooh was actually named because of a few factors.

Aa Milne, the Author and Creator of the Pooh Character has a real son named Christopher Robin Milne. C.R, had a teddy bear that was named Edward bear. Upon many trips to the local zoo, to visit a bear found near Winnipeg, which also bore the name. The Bear was called "Winnie" for short. The real Christopher Robin was so entranced by the bear that he renamed his own Edward Bear - Winnie. Pooh was the name of a swan on the Milne family lands, and somehow the nomenclature started to mean graceful, which was a joke because of how Milne's son dragged the Poor Edward Bear around the house. Winnie the pooh should be important to Canadian history as well as some religious history. But no one ever reads the books anymore. Damn Disney stooges.

I believe that Winnie the Pooh is actually a Yoda like figure, hiding under the guise of a harmless stuffed animal, when in fact, he is a godlike figure, who's true figure is too magnificent for us to behold.
