Active as in not being a deleted member?

Or active as in they at least log on to the site within the past week or so?

If the latter is true, then that's a lot more than I could have imagined! I think once Halo 3 is released, that number will double......

Perhaps even more than that... (Note: PDF File)
The posts more than trippled in the months after the release of Halo 2, and I'm sure that membership also skyrocketed. It could (and probably will) happen again after the release of Halo 3.

But aren't us members also a part of xbox.com? So there isn't necessarily 2000000 bungie members, just 2 million xbox members.

Actually there is about 2000000 bungie.net members. You only have to be part of xbox.com to have your gamertag linked. I think you are talking about the windows ID that is used to log-in to the web site.

Oh ok. Well, close enough >_<

I can see how there are so many inactive users. I joined in early '05 and I didn't even start posting a good 9 months later..

Sounds like me, starting in 2004. I stayed wit the groups. The main forums were merely shadows and whispers that I knew of but had yet to find.

If I had to pull a random number out of nowhere, I'd say only about 500 or so post regularly, and maybe around 100,000 who come to just check stats and maybe make a post or two, here or there.

Then again, they say 87.4947543% of statistics are completely random, or something like that ;-)

thats probably pretty accurate

No company that uses terms like, head-to-head, man-on-man, action-sack, and mancannon is homophobic.
I supposed that teabagging is.... what, a representation of a new form of colonoscopy?

Hmm, I think I can sense the member ID numbers causing elitism in the future. Bungie better get rid of them ;)

Shutup number 1792524! Im number 448611, there for im cooler!

You should know your place 448611, bow down to 7872

=P

lol, so is that why they took away the member since thingy next to your name. I thought it was something about that but ya, I've been gone for a few months. But I think the amount of users is maybe about a million less than the most recent member's number because of all the members that have been deleted. Unless your user ID number is always updating. Do you know what I'm trying to say?

Well, I'm brand new! Just joined about ten minutes ago.

I've read the Stickies, and will be spending most of my time here in The Septagon.

But anyway, I'm member 2,114,339.

Welcome to Bnet! And if you asked me, you've picked the best forum to spend your time. For some reason I want to think that you are some really old member who just made a new profile. You seem very experienced to me.

Hi, Welcome to B.Net. Let me tell you something few new members are priviliged to hear.
While The Septagon is where most of the "mature" members post, and at first everyone will welcome you, it is very hard to stay in the Septagon unless you a)from pre-Halo 2 or b) very dedicate or very intelligent. Since I'm an idiot, I don't come here that often. Now, let's say hypothetically everyone in the Septagon hates you, you will be naturelly inclined to move somewhere else, probably the Halo 3 forum, since that is the reason you probably came to B.net. Don't. You will lose all sanity. Now the only notable forum left is The Flood. I've had many fun times with The Flood(Flood vs Mods was fun, even though I don't think we ever got to play the mods). Then people started marrying each other and people were shooting arrows at each other and people were starting to become authors and then the Flood imploded. Well, something like that happened anyways. Don't go to the Flood.

Now that you've read my post you are well prepared to become a member of Bungie.net. Good luck.

I have Halo PC, but I stopped playing it. So, I thought, "WTF am I doing still posting in The Maw? I'd better find some other place to post." Now I post here, and throw random information at the Flood. That place is crazy fast, compared to the good ol' Septagon.

I'm not that active, but never dead.

Believe it or not, there was a time when Bungie.net had around 5000, and THE game to play was Myth 2. That was also around the time that Halo had just been released, and the Tru7h and Reconciliation site was still up. Ah, the memories.

Now Bungie.com, Bungie.net, sevethcoloumn.org, and all the other sites have come together into what is now just Bungie.net.

Hope you enjoyed this little history lesson. :D

20,000 posts in the opening days of Bungie.net and it only got worse...

They left out the part of three security clerks to watch the forums... *sobs*

Doesn't exist. I'm pretty sure the closest users to 117 are stosh-104 and KP-130.

I tried. No. 117 is called 'Anonymous User (Deleted)'. I tend to find many of the earlier members chose that name. Don't you?

I think there are maybe 2000 online at any one time. Regular posters, maybe 100,000. Achronos would know. He has teh dataz.

I seriously doubt it'd be that high.

I would say there are at least 2000 regular posters, as for online at one time. Who knows?

I think it would have to be more then that, 2000 seems much too low for a large studio like Bungie.
