Yes, I return after months of silence with a serious problem with CE. It's not a crash or anything, but it completely prevents me from playing...with other people, at least. Whenever I boot up CE, I cannot join any games due to the Join function being inoperable. I can only click it if I've joined a game via XFire and exited it, but starting CE without any outside interference will not allow me to use the Join button. The only thing accessable is the Host LAN function, which I have no need for other than to test maps, as I do not have a LAN. Any help with this problem will be greatly appreciated, and yes, I have updated CE to the current patch (1.7). Again, thank you for any assistance.

Check your CE shortcut to see if you have it configured to make CE boot up in devmode. To do this, simply right click, select "Properties", and look at the shortcut's target. If it says -devmode or -console, remove that. Now it should work fine.

Yeah, it's on DevMode, I know that for sure. Says "Halo: Custom Edition Developer Mode" on it, so....pretty obvious. Thanks, didn't know DevMode would screw with the joining.

devmode does not allow multiplayer play, as it is basically a free way for everyone to cheat. There is a program that does let you use it for online play though.

Try disabling any firewalls you have installed.

Aside from that, run a chkdsk /r on your hard drive, reinstall CE and tell it to replace all files, and try again.

You can leave -console. It's also used for RCON.

Ok, it was DevMode, thanks for the help.
Oh, and Raptor, no offense, but...you do know there's an edit button, right?
