Good to see at least somebody takes this place seriously

I am sincerely disappointed in everyone except JIMH. JIMH, have a gold star.

',:\ IF YA SAHMELLLL

I just had a quick question about the profanity filter. Excuss me for by passing it here, but if I didn't you would not have any clue as to what I was talking about. I am warning people who are offended by such words to stop reading now.

The question is: Why we are able to say "sex" but not "sexu-al"? I am assuming it is because people are immature and use homosexu-al as an insult, but I could be off on this. They are both related to each other. One is a noun; the other an adjective.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

Apparently, this board uses the standard Microsoft censored words. I would assume that your assumption is correct about the words in question. Although its a perfectly benign description of a way of life, the potential for its use as a pejorative makes it censored. That's just the world we live in.

If I remember correctly -blam!- was the title character of a very perverted book.

Also, yeah, the adj. version is probably censored due to immaturity on the forums. And the world in general

I wanna know why Lólita is -blam!-'d.

(take out the ')

-blam!-. See?

Just out of curiosity, why would you possibly need to say that here?

Who knows.. I wish the filter was like it was a year or two ago. It was a lot looser and we could express our.. "ideas" :D without being so limited. Its not a major thing though.. and I can understand why its tighter now.

more members + lower average maturity rate = more filtered words

The filter hasn't changed much since April 2004, where it got its current form. That came from the standard MSN filter list, although I scrubbed it and removed a bunch of the stupider restrictions.

Well, I always remembered that we were able to say more stuff. But since you say that I guess my memory serves me wrong. Not a big deal though, like I said.

As I am the overlord, I get to make up words as a see fit, if the situation calls for it.

The question is: Why we are able to say "sex" but not "sexu-al"? I am assuming it is because people are immature and use homosexu-al as an insult, but I could be off on this. They are both related to each other. One is a noun; the other an adjective.

The word "sex" can be used as a synonym for "gender."

That's makes sense, thank you. I still think we should be able to say "sex-ual". Also, the blamming of "Naz'i" is a pain when reading WW2 stories, but I guess me complaining won't change anything.

But why is "raped" allowed and "rap-e" filtered? When you add anything onto the F-bomb or female-dog it's still blocked.

that which is not dead can eternal lie, but with strange aeons even death may die.

that, Is actually a very good, question, I mean. does Microsoft have something against the present tense. but they like the past tense...hmm...

maybe they have some sort of fetish...o well. None of My buisness.

and the Naz-i thing, thats just sad...I mean...Naz-i isnt a "bad word", if anything, its a very historical thing.

I've challenged my beliefs. What is the book about?

I find that this is usually untrue. If religious people honestly, diligently and intelligently challenged their beliefs, there would be no religious people.

With all due respect to the good folk who built this site, but seriously, why cater to the little 12 year olds the more respectable members really despise?

It's probably just them being professional.
That, and spammers would go "f-bomb crazy." Wow. I could only imagine what would go on if we had no -blam!- filter.......
