Subject: Question about the profanity filter.

KOTOR | The WarriorsI'll chain you to the truth for the truth shall set you free
I'll turn the screws of vengeance and bury you with honesty
I'll make all your dreams come to life, then slay them as quickly as they came

I'd actually like to see a more loose filter. N@zi shouldn't be blocked; it was a political party in Germany that was associated with a bad group of people.

Yes, I agree, Naz-i needs to be unblammed. It is a historical aspect and, while some people may abuse it, just because has negative connotations doesn't mean we should deny it's existence.

I've challenged my beliefs. What is the book about?

I find that this is usually untrue. If religious people honestly, diligently and intelligently challenged their beliefs, there would be no religious people.

And honestly, how many times does na.zi come up as an insult, really? With the amount of WWII games there are out there, fighting blams just seems kinda......dumb....

They don't use it because they can't use it. If it was taken off the list, it would fly up to number one ahead of 'noob'.

u nub.
Actually, from what I've seen, Nazzi has become a bit of 'joke' insult. Mainly used in arguments where one side runs out of stuff to say.

Do you feel what I feel, see what I see, hear what I hear?
There is a line you must draw between your dream world and reality

I noticed the filter has had words added since I joined. if you spell (excuse the filter bypass) s-h-i-t in all caps, but use a lowercase L, it gets blammed (1 m or 2?), watch:

-blam!-

huh, heh?

Does that matter to people who use the word noob, or any other word for that matter, out of context?

But seeing all of Kritz's threads get their title changed was priceless. Somehow Kritz's -blam!-es doesn't have the same impact.

As I am the overlord, I get to make up words as a see fit, if the situation calls for it.

Posted by: Zerodev
Is 'stupider' one of the words you scrubbed from the filter, Achronos? :)

OMFG LAWL funniest man on the forums.

Posted by: Achronos
The filter hasn't changed much since April 2004, where it got its current form. That came from the standard MSN filter list, although I scrubbed it and removed a bunch of the stupider restrictions.

Posted by: SgtSTFU
Who knows.. I wish the filter was like it was a year or two ago. It was a lot looser and we could express our.. "ideas" :D without being so limited. Its not a major thing though.. and I can understand why its tighter now.

more members + lower average maturity rate = more filtered words

Good job on answering the OP's question.

Stop sending me group invites -blam!-s!

I remember there was a glitch that made the word 'saturday' blocked.

With all due respect to the good folk who built this site, but seriously, why cater to the little 12 year olds the more respectable members really despise?

It's probably just them being professional.
That, and spammers would go "f-bomb crazy." Wow. I could only imagine what would go on if we had no -blam!- filter.......

*siiiiigh*
That brought up bad thoughts......
