Nah, Blam is from waaay back. Much before a youngin' like you, Chick.

That's why, through the science and technology of my remembrancing, I can easily tell you that Blam is, by far, the best 'profanity word' to use.

Was blam first used on the Oni crash screen? Cos that's the only place I've ever seen it.

(random yet funny signature goes here)

Blam! was the original code word for Halo way back when it was just an RTS for the Mac. Then Microsoft came in and Blam! became the game we all know and love now.

SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

I think its older than Halo. I know it was the second codeward for Halo, replacing monkeynutz.

I like -blam!-. Its origional.

They should replace bad words with: =) instead of -blam-. A smiley face would be funny.

Bungie could always use random sayings from the old Batman series; however, blam! is fine with me.

"Quick, Robin, get the shark-repellent-bat-spray!"

So is it shark-bat repellent? I'm confused...

With all due respect to the good folk who built this site, but seriously, why cater to the little 12 year olds the more respectable members really despise?

It's probably just them being professional.
That, and spammers would go "f-bomb crazy." Wow. I could only imagine what would go on if we had no -blam!- filter.......

12 year olds are not so bad...Not all of them...I mean, i am 12, halochick is 12 alot of the more mature people here are 12-14...

Yes, I agree, Naz-i needs to be unblammed. It is a historical aspect and, while some people may abuse it, just because has negative connotations doesn't mean we should deny it's existence.
And honestly, how many times does na.zi come up as an insult, really? With the amount of WWII games there are out there, fighting blams just seems kinda......dumb....

They don't use it because they can't use it. If it was taken off the list, it would fly up to number one ahead of 'noob'.

u nub.
Actually, from what I've seen, Nazzi has become a bit of 'joke' insult. Mainly used in arguments where one side runs out of stuff to say.

YTMND even has a fad about it...OMG, secret Naz-i forest <------example

You say tomato; I say potato.

butthоle is -blam!-ed also. that just seems silly.

I'll be on my own side.

With all the "profanity" in movies, TV, and even games (Gears of War), I don't get why many words are blocked on these forums. A filter implies that gamers can play a violent game where you kill things with all sorts of weapons, but can't handle a few words that are becoming increasingly common in our everyday lives.

As a counter to my own argument, I understand that there are plenty of jackasses here who would abuse many words that are currently filtered, but still, there are some rather questionable filtered words here. Achronos, are words filtered because you find them personally offensive, for whatever reason?

Because even though younger children shouldn't be playing these games (they still do, of course...) they should be perfectly welcome on the forums and they and other users shouildn't have to see swear words everywhere.

He said on the first page it was the standard MSN filter list with some words removed from it, I think...

Most English swear words aren't filtered. And to answer the original question, filtering 'sex' would get rid of Sussex, Wessex, sextet etc. etc... And it's not a rude word, anyway.

Finally, would people please stop posting "Ch1cken is blammed!" (replace ch1cken with any rude word). No-one needs to know, unless it's a questionable one.

Calling yourself mature makes you sound more immature.

This is all pretty intresting, but SOME people, I won't give any names, have found ways to get around it. Thankfully he is mature enough...

And I'm sorry but being 12 is not being mature, and admitting it is really not being mature.
