Wouldn't it be cool if we could send text messages to our friends who were online through this site? I'm not sure if this is even possible but it sounds like it could be done. You could just click on your GT up there and select someone you wanted to text and send it to them. I always see my friends on but by the time I fire up my 360 and get online they have already gotten off so I don't get a chance to say anything and this could fix things like that.

What do you guys think?

I don't get it.

I've challenged my beliefs. What is the book about?

I find that this is usually untrue. If religious people honestly, diligently and intelligently challenged their beliefs, there would be no religious people.

great....but.....how.....

I don't get it.

You just send text messages from your computer to your friends that are online on LIVE.

You could/can use xbox.com for it.

Wow, I didn't know that. It would still be cool on this site.

I don't suppose there will ever be X-Fire for Xbox360?

(10:19:49 PM) Scruss: oh and pezza, i saw what you did to that cat
(10:20:17 PM) Pezza: You were the one with the video camera breathing heavily. Of course you saw.

Yes it would be useful, but then again It may only be possible to send messages as such via 360 as you can do on Xbox.com. Would be cool, I don't believe it can be implemented.

No.
There is a link to xbox.com in your profile. You can message people there. Just open it in a new window/tab. It works fine.

Maybe try to get them using this? It can be ok if people use it...

Why do people in ship mutinies always ask for "better treatment"? I'd ask for a pinball machine, because with all that rocking back and forth, you'd get a lot of free games.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Xbox.com already can do that.

Yet everyone who doesn't got a 360 on your list won't see the message

I agree with what many have said already, if you want to message someone just go to your profile and select xbox.com. Then send whomever you wish a message of any type. Simple as that. So, I say "no".

*Sgt

Not to be blunt or mean, but this sounds so useless.

* Internet is for internet, not texting
* texting is pointless anyway.. just use a phone to actually CALL them (its easier!)

so why use an already annoying function of a phone and put it on the internet? This generation (I hate to say I'm part of it) is so -blam!- digitized. It makes me sick

For Carnage, Apply Within.

I have returned from the Untamed Lands. MOAP is dead.

Xbox.com messaging sucks. It would be a better idea if you could send text messages to someone playing Halo 3 from here. Like PMs being readable in Halo 3.

Well I don't know about you but I don't know the phone number of every person on my list. I know the numbers of like 3 people on there who I know from school.

Like I said I didn't know that xbox.com already did this so this thread is basically useless. A mod can lock this if they wish.

~~Pardon Our Dust.~~

Sorry this is a bit old, but I did want to comment on this; I've just been busy with the Christmas rush, or whatever you want to call it.. And sorry if this sounds a bit odd, or incoherent, I can't seem to figure out how I was going about getting my point across.

Short Answer: I like this idea.

Long Answer:
I think having the two passports more integrated (as they claim to be already, but really aren't) would be great. Imagine if you could receive XBL messages from here as well, without having to switch between Xbox.com, which always seems silly, because they're both using Passport. (Yes, and I do realize that the two sites are here for different reasons, but if you hear any of Microsoft's 'everything will be interconnected blah blah' then you'd see why not adding this feature would make them hypocrites. Of course, I know Bungie does do things on their own accord here, I've noticed.)

Seeing as Bungie.net integrated stats for Halo 2, and now I'd assume they'll do the same for Halo 3, and Xbox.com (with Passport, same login we use here) allows you to message friends online, I'd be super happy if I didn't have to keep flipping between Xbox.com and Bungie.net to receive messages on Xbox Live; especially when Halo 3 will be my main game to play when it comes out.

So, that's my opinion on this...
