I love fraps, easy to use, good quality, etc.

I record in game for a long time because I don't know when I'll get a good shot in, I don't want to get a headshot and not have fraps running.

I just got rid of 200 files of AVI format movies.

before I did, I had 29 megabytes (MB) remaining on my C drive out of 180 gigabytes (GB)

bascially <1%

after deleting all those files, I now have 130GB free space out of 180GB....

avi files are huge!!!!!!!! especially all 200 of them.

actually, AVIs are not huge. fraps records in raw mpeg2 which is an uncompressed format. use gamecam if you want more fps and a less space used on the drive.

Yep, default settings create huge movies. Turning down the quality is usually a good idea.

What you need to do is get a program called Vritual Dub or just about any other program that can compress raw video. just click help on fraps on the video screen and it will take you to how you can use less memory and instructions on how to use video dub.

Heck, even Windows Movie Maker can be used to compress videos into a smaller format, and it's even standard on many computers!

Well If u wanna compress the videos using a stand alone program, fraps does recommend a program called Virtual Dub. Click on the "Help" tab every once in a while on fraps. They also tell you how to use it. It will take almost any video down to 1-20MB. You can also edit, cut and stuff with it too, very useful. But I still like Gamecam.
