You run up the steep snowy slope, your shields recharging from blue team’s ambush on your rocket warthog. Your driver is dead, you have barely escaped from a barrage of grenades. Do they know you’re alive? They might, but that’s why you snuck away, climbing up a snowy cliff, pistol ready to kill anyone you see with 3 well placed headshots. Soon as you get up the hill, you’ll be ready to get yourself a much needed med pack, and then---. Your screen shakes, fire engulfs your visor, your shields drop 75%, you quickly find cover behind a rock, as a three round burst hits the snow exactly where you were a second ago. You wait for your shields to recharge, a well placed frag grenade will finish you of if it lands near you. You run from behind the rock, charging the blue Spartan dressed in bulky Mjolnir armor, you recognize it from the Halowars announcement trailer. The night sky and snow reflected in his visor. WHOOSH you sidestep as the Spartan fires a grenade at you. You fire 4 shots, you fail to hit him in the head, but his shields fall as the last bullet in your clip is fired. A 3 round burst hits your armor, you see your shields surround your hands as they pop. Reload? You can’t risk it, if he shoots your done for. You holster your pistol and you pull out a new gun. With a flick of your wrist, the blades from the front of your new weapon snap down. It’s the Brute Spiker. WHOOSH! You dodge another grenade, it detonates in the snow around you, your shields stop charging, and you open fire at him. Orange spikes impale his armor, as flames spread from the super heated slag. He falls to the ground, smoking. You hear the roar of a warthog engine, and spin around. Grab the dead blue Spartan’s Battle Rifle with the grenade attachment, you spin around, fire the last grenade, and the hog slightly tilts, the gunner jumps out as the hog falls 30 feet. Is the driver alive, you don’t know, but the gunner runs towards you, he’s close, and he’s holding a new shotgun, it’s wide, and has a flashlight attached to the side. He fires 12 pellets at you. You have once chance, impale him with your Spiker’s blades. You rush towards him, the air is full of pellets and molten slag. The blue Spartan fires his shotgun again, and you fall to the ground dead. He stands over you, in his unique armor seen in the CMT SP mod. You look at your own armor. It’s the armor you wore back in 2001, when Halo came out. Except you see every detail, broken paint and it is cracked. Beep Beep Beep, you respawn at your base. You pick up a MA5C, it’s yellow ammo counter shows 14 rounds left in the magazine. You take your time to reload it, and the counter flashes blue and reads 32 rounds remaining. With the improved ammunition, and greater accuracy, it will help you if you run into another Spartan using a Battle Rifle Grenade Launcher, or a pistol user. You run to the teleporter, and grab a BRG, just in case you encounter another hog. You run through the teleporter, and grab an overshield. You jump off the forerunner structure, and inside you see a new weapon. You run and pick it up, dropping your brg. It’s large, and you mount it on your shoulder. You see a hog in the distance, 70 feet away. You hold the trigger, and a light at the end begins to get larger and larger, after three seconds, a red lance of light flies from the end, travels through the air, and hits the warthog. The passengers shields glow, and the hog tips over from the futuristic laser. The passengers fall out, and the beam moves over through them, as their shields drop and they fall the ground dead. Steam billows from where your laser has impacted the snow, and flames dance across a tree you accidentally hit. This could very well be a scenario of Vestige, one of the new CMT multiplayer maps.
What is this? Halo 3? Nope, it’s the latest Halo CE mod by the CMT mod, nearly a year in the making. It doesn’t feel like a mod, it feels like a new game. Yes halo fans, everything you just read you will be playing soon, no detail exaggerated, not from the snow and sky reflected in the visor, to the Spartan laser lighting tree’s on fire, to the Ma5c with its new color changing display which reflects the amount of ammo left in your gun. This is just the tip of the iceberg of the new features in CMT MP. Soon as we know everything is bugless, we will release the rest of the multiplayer maps. Numerous things have happened since the last release, of the CMT single player mod, which was downloaded in over 97 countries. This Christmas day blowout will unveil everything we have been working on, including multiplayer, Updated Single player (re-designed with co-op mode in mind), Halo 1 xbox, and Halo 2.
While most of our efforts have been in multiplayer maps, we have made great strives in single player. Please note, we do not have much of the new single player in a presentable form, but everything described bellow WILL be included in the final SP release. The biggest complaint about single player, was the lack of the ability to save your game and come back later, this has been fixed, along with the missing strings error. The second was the humongous download file size. Using a hacked bitmaps.map, the file size’s of the original release have been greatly reduced. There were also complaints of system performance. All new CMT models have been professionally LOD’d (Level of Detail). The mod now runs only around 10 FPS lower than the original halo, which is very good, considering how much new content has been added. There were gameplay complaints as well, such as the overpowered dropships, with huge wraith style cannons, the library level being to boring, and the game was to easy. All have been fixed. The new CMT SP mod bridges the gap between Halo 1 and Halo2, while including new content seen in the upcoming, Halo 3. In the library, flood will drive vehicles.
The dropships have been replaced by the Phantom dropships. The phantoms are destroyable like the CMT spirit dropship, but you can now also disable their attack guns, which are not annoyingly overpowered, like in the fist CMT SP release. Ripped Phantoms from Halo 2 have been added ingame, as a placeholder while the custom model (based on the trailer from E3 2003) is in development. CMT uses all original content, no ripped models or bitmaps from Halo 2 will be in the final release. Bellow is an ingame version of Bungie’s model from Halo 2. We hoped to show you our custom model, but GX shadow who was modeling it had a computer problem last minute. We will show it in the next update.

You may also notice, that all the SP levels have been redone, with new lightmaps to suit any of the modifications, something we did not have time to do in the original SP release. Also, cut from the SP release was fake real time reflections for the chief’s visor. With over 20 for the new SP release, you can see the swamp of 343 Guilty Spark reflected in your visor, to the canyons of Assault on the control room, to the destroyed halo ring in the games final cutscene. You will see these also in the multiplayer maps. New vehicles are also in development.
Another complaint was that you fought alongside other Spartan-II’s, this is also being removed, and they are being replaced with the Spartan-III cybernetic soldiers featured in Ghosts of Onyx. Jayden created concept art, based on the cover of the book. While the model is in development, it is still too early to show. We can say that the new AI for them is superb, they are worthy allies, and will seek cover, and no longer charge head first into battle like the halo 1 marines. Whether they will have working camouflage in SP has yet to be seen. They are capable of using new guns, such as the Spartan laser, and the MA5k gun described in the Ghosts of Onyx. They are also capable grenade throwers, something ALL AI can now do in the updated mod. The biggest AI change, is something that most were disappointed with in Halo 2

It didn’t slow-- it only howled with rage.” Yes, the Brutes are coming to halo 1. This concept has been in development since September, well before the “Et Tu Brute?” documentary. Over 60 custom animations have been made from scratch for the brutes. We have several of them set up for download at your pleasure.
