Well, it's cheap. Depending on your computer specs your prefarmance may vary. The Online play is laggy and filled with Tk'rs, racists, sexists, and a load of other crap. But there are a few havens where those don't usually cause that kind of trouble (clan servers). It's a good game, just be prepared for some frustration.

it's very fun but also frustrating, you have to deal with connection and lag and a lot of thigns. you may think you shoot someone but then the server doesn't say you did, so they don't get hit.

it's very fun, especially the community involved in this forum, just stick with our srevers and you will have a good time

The few, the proud, the leet.

Dont bother. Put it to Vista and Halo 2 Vista. You can buy an XP Pro OEM with a Vista Business cupon for 140 bucks. Add on the 50 or so for H2V and you can get it for under 200 bucks if you dont include shipping/tax.

Gaming Systems:
Intel Core i7 720QM (4 cores, 8 threads)
4Gb DDR3-1333mhz
1Gb AMD Radeon HD 4650
Windows 7 64bit

Xbox 360 w/ 20Gb HDD (2008 edition) & XBL Gold.

Halo for PC looks better than its Xbox counterpart. It employs the use of some features of DirectX9, for instance some Shader Model 2.0 effects. The textures and models look roughly the same though, maybe the PC version looks a bit better. But if you haven't played the single player campaign of Halo, get it, get it now! It's one of the best FPS experiances you can get. The multiplayer is fun but a bit buggy. There are often 2000+ ppl online in the peak times of the day though, so there's no scrounging for a good server, there's still pleanty to pick from.

It's very very addicting, in part due to its very steep learning curve. Once you hit that steep jump between xboxer and leading your shots, the game only gets better. Mastering halo PC is impossible, as you can always learn new strafing strategies, perfect CTF attacks, etc. Even the best Halo PCers are still improving.

All the more reason why Bungie should make H2V very competitor friendly! Give us the things we need to give a PC Halo 2 a good competitive platform and youll have more servers giving people a place to play!

Oh, and to answer the question, I wouldnt buy it. GearBox, while a good software company, pretty much embarrassed themselves with the quality of coding involved in the port. Buy something else to keep you busy until H2V comes out.

Yes, get it. I prefer it over Halo 2 Online. The Graphics and everything are great.

It's very cheap and definitely worth it. There's some lag issues here and there but if you have a good broadband connection it shouldn't be a problem. I have been playing it for a while now and I don't regret buying it.

In high definition baby!

Yeah, it's fun, just set your game from the lowest pings (lag) to the top and the largest pings (lag) to the bottom. It's kind of fun, yes. Halo Cunstom Editon is so fun too.

Well, I'd say go for it. Gearbox did a poor job porting it, and messed up the multiplayer with new weapons, vehicles, and the netcode, but it's pretty fun for what it is. It's worth your $20. For the record, though, you can play Halo 1 Xbox online, and you do have to lead your shots quite a bit, as well as get used to ice skating.

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

Halo PC looks wicked on a good video card, even if it is old. The multiplayer is awesome despite the many heavy servers out there.

"Our servers"? Can you tell me the IPs? I just got HPC back up, and I don't know any good servers.

It's not really gearbox's fault as much as a lack of communication between bungie and gearbox.

It's an awesome game! I bought it when it was first released.. whats it been four years now? And i still love it :)

I have even seen it in the stores as cheap as $14.99. Though like Obi said the online play is laggy full of racist people but if you get past that its a really fun game.

Get one of those GeForce 7200 GT's. I can play halo, and all of my other games at mx resolution with all of the specs up at a solid 75 fps. Before I couldn't even do 640 x 480 and get a solid 20 fps.

Look... I'm on bungiepedia!

I really hope you have played Halo before. Well, before Halo 2.

Its a good game, but the lag is horrible (even with a good connection), and I myself have always been able to play better with a controller than a KB/M.
