Okay, I know it sounds a little creepy/nerdy, but I have NEVER beat ANY flood level without jumping out of my chair or skipping a beat. >_> Is there anyone else this happens to?

I did a few times at first, but when I memorized where they were they didn't get me anymore. That's why I kinda' hate the resident evil games, I love them but when they make you jump your like OMFG I CAN'T BELIEVE A GAME SCARED ME!!!

But yes, it happened to me a few times, especially on the level where the flood first appear, that -blam!- is creepy.

I first played Halo on the Xbox so thats where it scared me.

One time I was playing co-op with a friend on the Maw level when my friend died and i had to go find cover so he could respawn. I hid in an empty room. I was so jumpy that when all of a sudden my friend respawned in front of me, I pulled the trigger on the shotgun I was holding. Point-blank shotty to the back of his head.

This has got to be like number 2000 now asking if the flood have scared you...
And no, its been so long since I started playing halo that i genuinely cant remember if I was scared. I know I am not now, because I know every single corner and hallway the flood jump from. I play campaign waaaaay to much on slow days. Multiplayer can get pretty boring.

It's fine. We don't mind. The Flood are initially creepy, but in the end they're just annoying cannon fodder that go down with no satisfaction whatsoever.

Meh, Doom 3 isn't that bad... some of the -blam!- in RE 4 can make you -blam!- yourself though, especially the chainsaw guy... *shudders*.

Doom 3 isn't that scary. Sure, it might give you the chills twenty minutes into the game, but it's basically a monster-in-the-closet method that leaves much to be desired. It gets extremely repetitive and predictable. Like when you eventually realize that every single dead body dashed upon a control panel will come back to life as a zombie when you aren't looking, and that there is a giant demonic monstrosity hidden behind any door. Pretty soon you'll not just shoot everything that moves, but you'll shoot anything that doesn't move, and throw grenades around corners, dark halls, doors, and dead bodies, just to see what might happen...

If you want to play a real game that doesn't give you cheap scares, F.E.A.R. is brilliant. An intense, fast-paced, bullet time shootfest topped off with a thrilling storyline. F.E.A.R. FTW!

Haha, I do that all the time in CS by mistake. In an intense stealthy "hidebehindcover" shootouts in CS, I get so nervous and jumpy, that even though I'm a CT, if someone comes through a dark tunnel, I just fire all the bullets I have at him. Next thing I know, the guy I killed is furious, I'm saying sorry like my life depended on it, and I get slapped 60 times by the admin as a warning.

...Like when you eventually realize that every single dead body dashed upon a control panel will come back to life as a zombie when you aren't looking...

Are you freakin' serious?! That's crazy and effing scary! The last thing I'd expect is staring at some dead corpses, shrugging it off, and just walking down a narrow hallway, then all of a sudden, I hear moaning and suhffling of feet right behind me. I turn around and...omg, that'll scare me to death...

I'm so getting Doom3! Maybe for birthday, I would get it myself since it's cheap, but it's rated M, and the store guys won't allow me to buy it. =/

Going to do something that I can't remember ever doing, use the caps button. YES KIM, YOU ROCK. F.E.A.R ROCKS. NOW THAT IS A GAME THAT CAN SCARE THE CR@P OUTTA YA. WHOO. Seriously, first time I played, sound was pretty soft so had volume loud. Go to go down that ladder, turn around. BAM. Sound blast, little girl in your face. Made every hair on my upper half stand straight out, I swear. Flood are boring. I mean for crying out loud, I'll shoot their arms off and let them follow me around for a while like little pets they are so boring. And as for Doom 3, the way my friend's rabbit looks at me is more...frightening than playing that game at 1:00 in the morning, half asleep with my headset turned up high.

As far as evil mindless zombee monsters go, the Flood ranks about a "meh"

Lol ya, when I first saw that creepy little girl, I emptied all my clips on her, I was so freaked out.

But anyways, the only time I ever really jump is on the Maw when I'm hiding in a matinence tunnel and listening to the Covenant and the flood duke it out, when a flood combat form attacks me from behind.

The cutscene just before you meet the flood and the combat in that room after it is the best experience I have had with a video game. I stopped playing for two days after I got waxed in that room. It took me forever to nake it thru the Library because I kept creeping along waiting for them to burst from wherever they were hiding.

Doom 3 was tense because you couldn't frickin see a thing. Eventually not being able to see became more frustrating then scary and I had to stop playing. I only played a little of the F.E.A.R demo but that breathing was putting me seriously on edge.

Never played Resident Evil but the movie was creepy as hell and very well done. I was housesitting alone in a large dark house when I watched that movie and I was scared.

I never found halo scary in the slightest, now Doom 3 on the other hand can cause a man to kill himself just so he doesn't have to live the embarrassment of -blam!-ing himself because of a video game.

Resident evil was an excellent game, the film was under rated in my opinion as well. If you liked the first 1, you'll love the second.

Video games arn't as scary as they are startling. If something pops out at me, I may be surprised, but I wouldn't call it "scared"
