So, Halo's been out for...how long now? Long enough for a lot of the game to start getting a little bit old. So, in an effort to try something new, I got together with a few of my friends and we split up into four teams of two. Then, after a simultaneous start preceeded by a 10 second countdown, we proceeded to race through the whole campaign cooperatively on Legendary, and I have to say it was the most fun I've ever had in Halo. All of us knew the levels like the back of our hands, so teams were literally finishing levels seconds before the other teams. It was frikkin' insane. In the end, all four teams were racing through the Maw at the exact same time, and everyone completed the game within a 30 second window. I've never had a more intense, adrenaline pounding experience in my entire life. Flipping your hog over in the Maw run was like the end of the world.

Anyone else ever tried this? If you have the friends, the xbox's and the time, I've got to recommend it as one of the best things you can do in Halo. (Just don't try racing through Halo 2's campaign...Christ, what a grind). I was just thinking how fun it would be for an option like that to be available in Halo 3, although I know it'll never happen...

If you invite me to your group you will be blocked.

I was thinking about that a while back, it would make for an interesting tourny.

I didn't have the resources to get it done though.

That sounds awesome! I tried similiar things, but with some of my cousins who barely knew the game we timed eachother going solo thru short levels, kinda lame compared to that.

It's a lot better if it's simultaneous, and you really have to have at least one person on each team who knows exactly what they're doing. Being in last place by an hour or two because you couldn't find your way through 343 Guilty Spark is no fun at all. Niether is beating the team who got that far behind.

Yeah, thats what always happened with me. I got super far ahead because I knew exactly where to go. Got that way on the level Halo too. You don't happen to live in minnesota, do you?

Nope, sorry, Kansas (eugh). I've got a few friends who really love Halo, so we just split up amongst those who didn't know the game as well. The second time we raced, we had different teams on different difficulty levels to try to even some things out.

Wow, that does sound fun. My friend and I got together just today and did Legendary co-op for the first time (I've only been playing for about a year), and man, it was tough. Truth and Reconciliation was the worst, with no Pistol. We made it to the start of The Silent Cartographer.
