The Joyeuse IP Formula

When I see (saw) Shishka being a Aneous de' Hardous it was okay because thats his role in the community. But, and mabye i stand alone on this cold little ice block, I really cant stand it when I have some twirp recite me the rules after little transgressions.

A few days ago I went to the Flood and linked this ridiculous YMTD clip in a thread which I titled "Trailer to the new Batman!!!". It wasn't the new Batman, it was a stupid clip were some guy in a Batman costume was dancing around and singing a stupid song.

Alot of kids were laughing and replying with the desired "hey that was pretty funny man" and "lol". However this one little do good goober took a look, and i guess it really blew his lid. He starts b*tching at me about forum regulations and how I broke some "bate & trick rule".

I've seen this happen alot. I know they do it thinking they'll get praise from Achronos.

I don't see how it would be "bait & trick."
If you know you didn't do anything wrong, you'll be fine.
It's ok to have members remind others of the rules at the right time. It's just ass kissing when they accuse the innocent.

We've been here since you left.
We left before you came.

The way I see it, playing a "moderator" and being tight about the rules, is like sitting in the front row in school and giving your teacher an apple.

Remember kids, being a teachers pet only lands you in a trashcan.

Yet another worn out topic in The Septagon.

BEHOLD! a man who chilled out and stopped playing moderator!
I chilled out so much that I'm getting frostbite!

You might want to post a little in the Halo 3 forum, the flames will heat you right up.

And I would like to add the hilarity of the fact that the thread in question was locked for exactly what the forum cop accused it of being makes me chuckle.

I'm pretty sure we are incouraged to Remind people of the rules around here to make things easiar for the Moderators. Just don't break the rules and you won't deal with.

I dont feel they have a right to PM you, posting in the thread isnt a big deal, but PMing you like they are in charge and the PM actually did something is kinda silly. Its best to just PM a mod yourself to get something done, or email the mods.

I know what you mean. It's annoying, but sometimes, people get irritated at some things people do here and try and regulate it. Hell, I do it from time to time. I don't really know I'm doing it, and I don't do it to win praise from the mods. But yeah, some people take it kinda over board and freak out, even though they have no reason to.

I agree that we shouldn't be forum cops. PM the mods and let them do their jobs.

Narwhallace Smithington: Gone, but not forgotten. Never approve of anything lil guy. <3
Furious George: The new -blam!-

Eh, sometimes I tell someone when they've broken a rule but I'll answer their question and such. I can joke around with people, too. If it's something that shouldn't be made known publicly, I'll PM someone to tell them what they did wrong (Recon made that suggestion to me awhile back). If I can tell that it's a blatant error (spam) - I report someone.

I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.

I do like to have fun. :)

I've challenged my beliefs. What is the book about?

I find that this is usually untrue. If religious people honestly, diligently and intelligently challenged their beliefs, there would be no religious people.

I am understanding of someone trying to help someone better understand the rules, but when someone starts being a jerk because mommy wont let them play halo anymore, that really gets to me. It doesn't help any, it just starts flame wars that get themselves banned anyways.
