OMG, remember a long time ago, I told you guys I'm planning to buy a 50 dollar nVidia GeForce FX5500 after I'm odne saving up? Well, I'm finally done, and I checked back on the card in CompUSA.com, and they rose the price by 100%. Now it's 99.99, and I can't afford that...

So I've decided to look for other graphic cards...on Neweggs, but before I list the graphics cards I want, I need to ask you Newegg members, in order to order stuff, do I need to use a credit card, or can I pay just pay the delivery man with cold cash when he comes with my package...

Anyways here they are:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E1681410316 7

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E1681410316 6

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E1681413300 7

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E1681424102 0

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E1681413025 5

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E1681413018 8

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E1681412904 6

Please note that I'm a PCI user.

I know it's a long list, but I want to make sure from the experts, so I can get a decent card that costs what it should.

BTW, is the ATI Radeon 9250 a good card? Most of the cards on my list are 9250's. Making sure.

Experts? The experts? You must have us confused with some people who are better than we are. Joking. Anything with the numbers 9250 in it sounds good.

It is good that you're thinking about getting a new card ipjunnin, but it's too bad you only have pci. The 9250 is a fine card, I can run all new games like battlefield, fear and halflife, however you'll have to play them with resolution all the way down and most options on medium. In halo, the only way you're going to get 60fps with everything on high is by playing in 640x480 (although you could raise the resolution at the expense of details.)

Of the list of cards you posted, I don't really know which of them is best, but I just wanted to let you know how the 9250 will run.

Congrats on saving up the money and enjoy your card.

Cool thanks for the answers guys. I'm just going to look into the list again, and get the most flawless 9250 I can find. But any of you guys ever bought stuff on Newegg before? Is credit card mandatory? or not?

Ooh, can't wait to play my CoD 2, and HaloPC with awesome graphics. And I'm fine with 640x480, even on the integrated I'm on, it looks fine, well enough for a person not used to the shinyness at least. I'm also planning to buy the expansion pack for Starcraft, and CoD: United Offensive, but I'll need a new Hardrive...=/

EDIT:

Ok, I did a quick skim, and I found which cards I want. Both ATI Radeon 9250's, but the first one's a Diamond, the second one's a GeCube.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E1681410316 7

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E1681424102 0

Now, all the positive feedbacks on both cards look pretty good. They both look like they're going to run on my PC very well. I want at least 10-15 people voting on this thread, with their KNOWLEDGE, not just guessing (you'll have to explain why that card is better than the other), and by the time about 15 people voted, I tally everything up, and the card with the most votes is the card I buy. Sorry if I'm requesting too much, I just don't want some piece of crap some 3 year old put together for my 50+dollars. Thanks in advance guys.

Call of dut 2 and FEAR with awsome graphics on a 9250 are you people serious? You might get away running halo with decent graphics, but not on any newer game. Look for a geforce 6200 PCI, nothing less if you want to run any newer game.

I don't need such awesome graphics to enjoy the CoD series. At least I'll be able to play it, and if due to my low RAM means I have to lower my graphics setting all the way down to low in CoD 2 in order to get good FPS, I'll definitely make the call. CoD is fun nonetheless.
But Halo, I need both good graphics and FPS. ;D

And F.E.A.R. doesn't look too good to me. I'm probably never going to buy it.

Forget it, the 9250 is a BAD card. It is a low end card from 2003 and you people are telling him he can play 2005 and 2006 games on HIGH details, but the card does not even support dx9. I don't get it.

Save more and get something that isnt already 3 1/2 years outdated and doesnt run any new game worth a crap. Sorry, there is no way around it, the 9250 is old and bad.

I told you, get the 6200, it's $70 on newegg and it will run circles around the 9250 and support dx9, however dont take that as if I said it is a good card, because even now, it sucks as well. ill go as far to say all PCI cards suck and there are no good options available.

Out of all of those you listed, the eVGA GeForce FX5500 is the best bang for your buck. Just compare the specs =P.

Will edit if I can find you a better PCI card for around the same price.

EDIT:

Whoopsy.. Didn't look at the memory part. Sorry about that D:.

Holy cow, they made the 6200 for PCI? That's great. Can it run games well? Like good graphics, awesome FPS, etc. even for new games? If I get a confirmation answer from at least 5+ people, I am so getting this. Thanks staticx. And sorry if I pissed you off or anything, you sounded mad right after I told you I don'tmind the 9250...=/

And thanks to you too jackal. I'll consider getting either the FX5500 or the 9250 as a secondary, but right now, my eyes are sset on that BEAUTIFUL 6200 for the PCI!!! =D

Thanks everyone for the answers. Now I'll need 5+ confirmation from 5 people who knows these stuff, and give me reasons why the 6200 is worth my 70 bucks. Now start your confirming! xD

I'm no expert but I consider myself smarter than the average idiot. When you look at graphics cards never just judge based on how high the numbers are on the GPU name. Yes that helps you judge but when you are judging for a good card you want to look at a few things.

You want to look at The Core Clock, # of pixel pipelines or Stream processors or w/e would be there. You also want to look at The memory clocks, the memory size, the memory interface. BASICALLY EVERYTHING MEMORY RELATED. The higher the clock speeds the faster it is processing information and the more efficient it is. Usually the clocking speeds judge the efficiency of the hardware, it's like this with processors as well.

Like many people think that the clocking speed of the processor is all that matters..WRONG YOU PHAIL!! A lot more things go into effect rather than just the number on the box, like with a GPU. For processors you got to look at FSB and cache sizes. Little things like those, that aren't always stated out in the open, CAN HAVE A MASSIVE EFFECT ON EFFICIENCY!!

Geez guys...all I wanted was a confirmation saying whether or not the 6200 is worth the 70 bucks or not...o.O And if it is good or not.

Oh and does anyone here use Newegg to buy their stuff? If you do, can you answer one quick question of mine, is credit card usage mandatory or not? Because I could only pay by cold cash...=/ So perhaps there's an option to either pay the delivery man by hand, or give the cash through mail?

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but most of those suck.

Now, the 9250 isn't awful, but it's the low end card from like, 2003. I would avoid it if you want to play newer games.

The 5200 or, if you can wrangle it, the 5500 would be your best option here. If I were you I would beg or do something to get thirty more dollars and get something better.

EDIT: Get the 6200 or the X1300 as mentioned above! I have the X1300 and it runs BF2142 on med-high settings perfectly and Halo on 60 - 100 FPS. Of course, my X1300 is PCI-E...

if you want to find out how good a card is, the best way is to check its benchmarks.

All right that's one confirmation of the 6200's greatness so far...

And yeah, I'm getting the 6200. Well, depends on if newegg only takes credit cards or not...

I would never say that, of course they are very low end cards that give slower framerate than a mentally-ill five-year-old child furiously scribbling a poorly-drawn picture of a man in a space suit shooting aliens in an animated picture, but here, beggars can't be choosers. Or they can, but these choices overall aren't good.

Ipjuunin, save up a crap load of money, start pinching those pennies, and go get yourself a nice high-end PC. :)

Newegg takes Debit, Credit, paypal (I think) and Money Orders, which is what you'll want to do.

And X1300 > 6200. But it is also a bit more expensive ($10-30 more probably).

check the ones in blue I've highlighted for ya. As you can see, the X1300 is slightly faster.

Cool chart. Thanks for the info...but:

Everyone telling me to get the X1300 instead, I appreciate your trying to lead me to the right path, but I'm telling ya', I JUST CAN'T afford it. The nVidia GeForce 6200 is the best choice I got right now, and at 70 dollars, I can barely afford it. So thanks everyone for the "leadings", but my heart's set on the good ol' 6200 right now; well unless some ridiculous miracle happens, like picking up some of Bill Gate's 100 dollar bills he used as his napkins for his lunch...xD

Most of the PC issues posted here are the result of PEBKAC.

Are you sure you can't save a little more to buy a new motherboard? Depending on your processor, you can get one for as low as $50. The PCI-E Radeon X1300 is much cheaper and better than the PCI version.
