Here's the Link

I personally think they're taking the whole thing a little too seriously. I personally didnt care what Killzone got as a score because I still know that it's going to be the best FPS out for the *PS2*. I'm not a fanboy for either system, I just play the games for whatever satisfaction they can produce. The reason I post over here and not over at the PS2 forums is because the people (mostly) are much better to talk to. So whether it be Killzone or Halo 2 that wins the popular vote, just know they they are going to rock their respected systems.

P.S. - All the complainers over at the PS2 forums anger me because they're not following a great piece of advice: "It is better to close your mouth and let people think you're incompetent than to open it and prove the fact." The swearing and complaining forumgoers at those forums are just proving that they are incompetent Killzone fanboys....

It really is too bad. They're complaining that IGN compared it to Halo, in the review.

#1. Halo is a three year old game. It is the benchmark for FPS.

#2. If you look at the Killzone threads, they mention Halo about the same amount of times as Killzone. They have high hopes, for sure

#3. Killzone just wasn't that good. It just wasn't. They had a small dev team, new to the market, underpowered console for true graphical bliss...

They're rabid fanboys. Killzone was hyped up, because it was to fill a void on the PS2.

What sickens me is that these people will not appreciate a decent game, because it is on a different system.

All too true on so many levels. Very good outlook on the situation Vella.

That's how many of the members on these Bungie forums feel. If it isn't on Xbox, it just isn't worth playing.

Yeah, and it's kind of sad. So many great and diverse games come out for each system that not getting another system because you're a fanboy of one is just... stupid. People should be a little more open-minded. Killzone, even though a lot of Halo fanboys here hate it, is a good game for its system. Whether you hate it or not, you cannot defy the fact that it's the best FPS for PS2.

Exactly. IGN said it is a great game, just flawed.

We’ve watched while the stars burned
Out, and creation played in reverse.
The Universe freezing in half-light.
Once I thought to escape.
To end a master, step out of the
Path of collapse. Escape would make us God.
Yet I cannot help but remember one enigma,
A hybrid, elusive destroyer.
This is the one mystery I have not solved.
The only element unaccounted for.

Scratch that; many of the people in New Mombasa seem to think that if it's not Halo or Halo 2 it's not worth playing. Those fools.

Well, not THE benchmark. One of them, but there is a little game called Half-Life.

The main problem with this is that ps2 can never have a good first person shooters because the controllers are not suited for it. Not to say it is a bad thing it is like how xbox controllers aren't good for games that require a d-pad(which is only tony hawk which no one likes anyway.) Also they always try to hipe things up to be more then they are. Also bungie should be glad they created the gold standard.

Let me say this; I am not a fanboy; I have all three of the current systems; Xbox, Gamecube, and PlayStation 2.

However, from what I have seen, Halo 2 is a far better game than Killzone. It just is. On the other hand, my PS2 has been collecting a lot of dust recently, so I'm gonna buy Killzone a little while after it comes out.

Yeah but the industry has said that the 2 games to really set the standards for FPS on consoles were Goldeneye for the n64, and then Halo set the new standards. Of course i'm only talking about consoles and not PC's

I agree, but I probably won't be getting killzone.

Their own fault... they (the complainers) are the very same people who touted it as a 'halo killer'... then when their precious game doesn't get a good score, they whine and cry. dumbass fanboys. even worse than the dumbass fanboys here. Why must all people be dumbass whiny console fanboys? PC is the way to go... I bought Xbox for one game and one game only... Halo2... (although I have a copy of halo for Xbox, the PC version is better)

Oh yeah... I am actually a fanboy... a marathon fanboy.

You can not compare PC and Console games. If you play UT04 for PC and UC03 for Xbox, they are both unique to their respective hardware. Same thing with CS. PC is fun (too many cheaters though), but the Xbox version isn't up to par. The only game to defy this happenstance is Halo. Halo: CE rules. Halo PC is lame. The entire feel of the Halo universe is meant to be enjoyed at the comfort of your couch on a big tv, NOT on a computer monitor sitting 10-12 inches away from it. It's physics were designed for very loose players and once you got tight with them, you are unstoppable. PC, it plays too much like PC FPSs, which isn't necesarily a bad thing, just doesn't make Halo feel right.

Halo redefined FPSs. Halo 2 is a 9.7. I can't wait =D

WOO HALO 2!

yea, alot of people dont like GameCube games because they think since its on GameCube, its a kids game... which is absolutly wrong... at this point, id rather play super smash brother melee than Halo... Halo is old... although good, its getting old...
