There's only one way to solve this topic goes off in the wrong direction >_>. This has information on why Halo CE will never go online. Your only options are to either play Halo CE in LAN's with friends, or use XBC as laggy as it may be.
I just want a physics engine that at least feels like combat evolve's. To me Halo 2 doesn't even feel like "halo" and I really don't know any other way to explain it. I noticed some one said that we should get friends that want to lan it. Its not always that easy. Its tough enough finding friends that play video games as much as I do and aren't complete wierdos.
For example I have 2 friends who still want to play Halo CE on a regular basis. Another friend of mine never played combat evolved's multiplayer and was really into Halo 2. He is better than me at 2. We decided to have a lan one day and the only people that would come over were me, my two friends, and my friend who is really into Halo 2. We played a few rounds, all of us being rusty. We were having a good time. Once all of us who like CE more started to warm up our 2 friend started to complain. "This game sux" "I can't even kill you" "What the hell, I can't snipe in this game". Meh, that sort of doesn't really have anything to do with my point, but I just feel like venting.
We haven't played CE together since. Occasionally I have a friend over and we hop on xbox connect but its just not the same as those 4v4 and bigger games.
It seems to me most CE fans have moved on to Halo 2 because it has xbox live. Most of us have given up hope. Currently the only halo I play at all is combat evolved's campaign. I am looking else where for multiplayer. The only reason I am getting 3 is to finish the story. I hope the physics and mechanics are good, but I am not to optimistic.
edit: Don't get me wrong 2 wasn't a bad game. It just didn't feel like Halo to me. I'd still probably play if the community that plays it wasn't filled with bad attitudes and people who need to cheat to feel better about themselves.
