I was wondering if anyone knew anymore infomation about them.
(they are the people who fight alongside with MC in the E3 Video 2003)
They remind me of like the S.A.S or US Navy Seals type solider (advanced in combat skills etc).
Since i think they look cool i was wondering if anyone thinks they would be cool to have on mutiplayer options?

I know from the novels that they are an elite branch of the military. ODST standing for Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. I guess they would be the equivalent of a paratrooper today. Just instead of droping from the sky they drop from space.

January 30, 2004 (Warthog's Day)
The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

Basically that is what they are Special Forces. They are an elite group of voluteer soldiers. ODST (orbital drop shock troopers) or hell jumpers because like the Elites in the E3 demo they drop into position from orbit.

Yeah they're pretty good literary works, and just plain fun to read, you learn a ton about Master CHief's history, its pretty intense, the first one is just plain cool, the second one (that follows the game) is just crazy, because you get a much deeper understanding of whats goign on, and the third one is just like "holy crap...Holy crap....HOLY CRAP" i got really excited when reading the third one, and if the Videog game follows the novel, which i'm praying it does, its just gonna be mind boggling. I dont want to give anythign away, but it'll be incredible.

Yes, they do explain jsut abotu everythign abotu the ODSTs, aka Helljumpers. They are crazy, both figurativly, and a little literally. But if nothign else, they are total bad ass. The second best thing next to a SPARTAN.

Anyway, yeah i know what you mean abotu the multiplayer thing. WHen i first heard about Covie vs Humans last year, i htough to myself, what if they have different classes for the humans and different races for the covenant, that would be so freakin awsome. But ELite vs MCs is fine with me too.

Well, im outta here, night guys.

ODST's are cool....but in the first book, you see John kick two of their asses. And that's without his MJOLNIR Mark V armor....so I don't think they stand a chance against a spartan. Not that anyone was implying that... I think the one in First Strike was cool, but I forget his name. Someone remind me.

the odst in first strike is called locklear, he kicks ass thats for sure

  • 07.03.2004 10:50 AM PDT

I'll be on my own side.

that cant happen unless the UNSC wanted to spend the money to surgically alter every soldier.and a lot of soldiers would die because of the side effects.
