Because you are what you eat, and you know what it is.

How many people get blacklisted each day? On average?

Are you saying you want to become a statistic?

Just wondering. There should be a counter in the top right corner of the page. It should say "Don't Join Us" and the last person blacklisted's identity listed under the number.

That would be sweet...and interesting.

It would be an entertaining and deterring notion.

Uh, that's public humiliation they probably already suffered before getting blacklisted. Not very nice, and I'm sure they'd never implement such a feature..

I like nice people. :(

Well, they shouldn't have broken the rules.

I think I don't like your signature, buddy.

Of course, but it's just not the web teams style to humiliate people publicly.. If anything, that gives them more initiative to come back and be a bigger jerk, or cause bigger problems, just to get back at them. Also, you'd have to take into account the people who slip up once. Unless you're talking about permanent blacklistings.. Not just the 7 day bans.

Still, it's kind of a silly idea. You know, something akin to the kindergarteners getting in insult fights on the playground.

Well, that's completely besides the point. If you have a problem, feel free to PM me.

I guess perma-bans would be good.

Well, I disagree. Especially if it's only for the reason of quelling your curiosity.

People would try to get black listed just so everypne would see their name.

It's called "thinning the herd".

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Thats almost like a challenge to get the BL.

When I got Blacklisted, It was for doing a dumb thing trying to help someone. I failed at what I was trying, and it ended up costing me. If the embarrassment of having my name displayed showing everyone that I was blacklisted was added to the fact that I knew I could have just left well enough alone and been fine, I think I might have just left the site. The way Blacklistings are set up now are fine. In fact, I think many people feel the blacklisting process is too harsh now, as it is.

Perhaps it wouldn't show logins that have been banned, just a counter. On normal days it wouldn't be much to look at but on days like when the first pics came out in that Swedish magazine it would be quite amusing. Really though, it would be kind of a pointless feature.

And here lies the problem with this feature.

Unlike this search feature, or the ability to see when someone's last post was, or someone's 'rank' on the forums, this blacklist "Humiliation Spot" (I think I'll call it) is COMPLETELY pointless and ONLY there for your amusement and/or curiosity, at the expense of others.

"America, the world no longer looks forward to playing you."

I remember when I got blacklisted. Some guy put up a topic called "happy christmas". Being a jew I had to go in there...

The counter, sure. But the name of the last person blacklisted? Nah, I agree with Zag.

P.S. I do like your signature, especially the Doonsbury link.

LoL a Blacklist counter?

Spammers would definitely try to get blacklisted twice as fast, just to watch it go up.

"Hey, lets see how many we can get today! Oh, 48? That's slacking............."

Haha, pure anarchy at its finest ;-)

If I had to pull a number, I'd say around 15-20 tops (per day.) Depends on the day though. Like during the Halo 3 leak, that was pushing 100 people who got some form of punishment.

I haven't seen a lot of bannings lately though. Maybe this site is growing up *gasp*
