Well I've never heard any of your good rap songs, so why don't you name some (or at least the artist), and I'll try to listen to it somehow.

OK, I'll give a few

2pac - Brenda's got a baby
Mac Mall - Starry Night

Those are just a few, I guess. It'd probaby be hard to convince you that rap isn't all bad, because so much junk is coming out nowadays. Those two I gave actually have some real points to them, along with some pretty dope beats

Like I said in an earlier post, I'm a fan of good music, and I don't limit myself to a genre. I respect good music

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

When I asked you for good rap I knew you would say at least one Tupac song, although I have never actually heard him.

CD's? I'm still fiddling with my victrola player. I just got a bunch of records off of ebay and I polished up the crank so I can crank out the music in style.

you rock! Every Beastie album up until Hello Nasty was the BLAM of BLAM!!! And I mean BLAM in the best way possible.
As far as rap goes here's some other good groups: Tribe called Quest, Boogie Down Productions, Arrested Development, Black Eyed Peas, K-os, the one and only KRS-1, I'm sure there's more i'm missing....

my choice was middle school(1980-1990). I listen to alot of ACDC and Metallica. Most new music prides themselves in their lyrics ands they use all this techno keybaord crap in there music. But bands like metallica pride themselves more in their instrumental talent. Metallica hase like 2 minute solos in each song along with 1 min intros. Metallica also makes alot of pure instrumental songs.

That's weird, I thought every Halo fan likes Linkin Park

Oh God no. If there's one band I can't stand anymore, it's them.

Anyone heard of Dream Theater? They're a good under the radar band, pretty heavy stuff, but I like it.

And about the rap stuff, there's just too much of it that is terrible, and it ruins it for the rest of it, which can be good music. The majority of rappers ruin it for the rest of them, it's a shame.

I mainly listen to stuff from my Dad's time. Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Ozzy, Aerosmith, Led Zepplin, Lynard Skynnard, Fleetwood Mac, Alman Brothers, ZZ Top, and A little Jethro Tull. But also enjoy some of the new stuff like Linkin Park, Lit, Blink 182, New Found Glory, Starting Line, Modest Mouse,Sum 41 Adema, Beastie Boys, and a little rap here and there. I dont really like country but have and appreciation for some of the songs out there. I just think its too depressing. Every song is about how some guy lost his wife, his tractor and his truck are both broken down, his trailer is falling apart and all he really has left is his beer and his dog. Dont get me wrong, some country is good (lynard skynard if you consider it country) and I have respect for the effort put into music.

lesse... i have some Linkin Park (Hybrid Theory & Meteora), Blue Man Group (both Audio and The Complex), some random stuff from a Fast and the Furious soundtrack i burrowed from a friend (but he moved, so now its mine =P ), some Dance Dance Revolution Music (Little -blam!- and Butterfly to name a couple), Halo soundtrack, Bring Me back to Life - Evanesance, and Headstrong - Trapt.

all that is on my playlist, not a CD.

on the rap subject. i tried listening to it, and all that appears anymore is sex, drugs, and stuff about killing people. there are maybe only 1-2 even semi-deccent rap songs that i've heard in my entire life (just can't think of the name, or even who they're by).

actaully, if MakaVeli doesn't mind me adding a little twist to this, what is your favorite song out of all your music? named a lot of general groups, but not any specific songs (unless you're like me and you only have 1-2 songs from that particular group).

Man that's a tough one. I wouldn't have bought any of my CDs if I didn't like every track. But if I had to pick just one out of all my collection, it would have to be Iron Man by Black Sabbath.

I like Linkin Park and Velvet Revolver.

I also like Evenescense (or however), but I don't have any of their music.
Velvet revolver and Lost Prophets are on my XBOX hd (soon Hoobastank, too). :-)

Rock is dead, music is sucking majorly now. Anyone who likes emo can go kiss a landmine.

And I haven't used a CD player since school got out... but I'm listening to Massive Attack, NIN, and Incubus, mostly.
